This is series of back in spots just south of NE Hwy 2 at the west end of Main St. A simple back, park on dirt. Power along the back wall with a water outlet on the west end of the lot. It's across the street from the town park. Railroad tracks with coal traffic about 200 yards away.
Verizon 3 bars 21.11/12.29 Mbps down/up. Very solid.

These are back in spots just south of NE Hwy 2 at the west end of Main St. Park on dirt/gravel. Grass and weeds were a little overgrown. Power and water still the same since last review. It's across the street from the town park. Railroad tracks with coal traffic about 200 yards away. We could hear the trains but overall did not bother us.

Back in spot with power. We were the only campers and the only person we saw at the park was a delivery driver having a lunch nap. The town is close by with very friendly people. We needed a spot for a few down days before moving on. Trains are nearby, just like all of Route 2.

Stayed here while passing through town. Can't see from main road due to trees, so follow GPS coordinates. Nearly level back in spots with FREE 30a or 15a. Local city park in same complex with shaded pavilion, swings and slide. Football/Track field within walking distance. This place is small town secluded and perfect as a quick overnight for my family.
Agree with other train comments, not noticable with A/C going.

Free site, electric with nearby water hydrant. Donation box. Even after the reviews I still drove right by it. Watch out for cockleburs! Good place to stay for the night. Lots of shade in the picnic area.

This is a good basic campground for overnight or a couple of days stay.
Camping is free, but there is a donation box.
Park has playground and grills, along with tables.
If the urge hits you, the old high school track is just west and nice enough to run on.
Water is available.
Thedford has a Dollar General, gas stations no others.
Great Verizon sign,

Previous reviews were right on the mark. Passing through, stayed 1 night. We had no great expectations but we were glad to have a simple place and within an hour it felt very safe. The power only was worth the stop. Water was provided but didn’t need it. Very happy and left a small donation. Occasionally heard train whistles but it really didn’t bother us. The only inconvenience was the cockleburs. Before I realize it, they were stuck all over my shoes and dog’s harness. Other than that it was great.

Fairly level back in site. We were able to park our 30 ft fifth wheel without unhooking. If you come off #2 onto Park Road (Google calls it Main St) the camping area is on your left as you drive in. No problem staying here on a Saturday night. We did hear the trains: at least 6 overnight.

I'm very thankful to the town of Thetford for providing this safe space and I happily left a donation. I'm in a class B and needed to use my leveling ramps, which didn't entirely help in the soft sandy soil, but close enough. 2-3 bars Verizon, 4 with my WeBoost. Full sun. Only one other camper here on May 8, 2022, in a class A with a toad and they fit by disconnecting the toad. A bit of road noise and some trains passed at random times and blew their horns but my rig is fairly soundproofed. 30 amp and 110. A dumpster and one water spigot.
As others said, Google Maps is wonky. Turn on Park Rd, there's no sign for Main St, though the road curves to become Main. And the RV area is on your left, running track is on your right. Look for the power pedestals and water spigot.

Was a good stop. And for free…. You can’t ask for more. I tented. Some ant hills under the trees so moved my tent into the pavilion even parked my bike in there. The trains!!! Yes the trains tend to run by within a couple hundred yards, not constantly, but maybe a half dozen times a night. It actually didnt bother me all that much. Woke me up when they came by, but then the breeze blowing through the trees put me right back to sleep. I’d stay there again. I was the only one there this night. Not a sole in sight. Does not look like it has hard use.
