Good looking site, with plenty of opportunities to swing a hammock. You will need quarters for the shower.
We loved the Telluride Town Park Campground, but we didn't love towing through Telluride. Our trailer is 27 feet long, and there are many dips where the roads converge in Telluride which caused us to bottom out a few times on our way in and out of town.
That said, small rigs would love it here. It's close to town, though when we were there in October, it was also a little bit muddy.

This is a First Come - First Served campground (no reservations). During the summer it is hard to get into. People wait in line early in the morning at the office in order to secure a campsite, like they do in Yosemite. The campground is reserved periodically for festivals that occur in town, so check ahead for the dates of this blocked times during festivals. It is probably a good idea to call the place and ask if they think there are going to be spaces when you arrive.
The website has changed. Here is the current campground website:

Pros:
- close to town
- scenic
- decent free Wi-Fi
Cons:
- price a bit high for dry camping
- extra $10 daily fee for additional vehicles (making the daily rate $38 if you have a toad like us)
- campground a bit tricky to navigate, sometimes hard to figure out the different spots; tight
- old bathrooms with coin showers
- muddy
- no wood fires allowed

Signs at the campground tell you this is by reservation only. For a larger rig it might be possible if you were in one of the first 2 spots but other than that it’s very tight with small sites.

Nice wooded campground on a creek. Camp host told us nothing bigger than 30’ allowed. No hookups, water on-site, and new bathrooms/showers being built (campers are allowed to use pool facilities until finished, per sign). Walking distance to town. Didn’t stay but walked the campground. Online resos only with 5 walk-up tent sites.

Beautiful location and very close to town. The price is good. The bathrooms were large, new and pretty clean. It’s not the campgrounds fault when someone takes their wet dog in the bathroom and leaves muddy footprints everywhere. Yes, you have to use tokens to shower. You get 2 tokens for for a dollar. Each token lasts 90 seconds. Plenty of time to soap up with one token and rinse off with the other.

If visiting Telluride, this is the place to camp. The location is excellent. It is just on the edge of downtown, located in a community park that features a swimming area, ball fields, and outdoor concert venue. It is easy to walk to the center of town and to access local hiking trails, the river walk, restaurants, and more. We were located in site 2 immediately next to the camp host. We had a 22 foot campervan and we needed to pull far forward to be level. Be warned, however, that this is a low spot and if it rains lots of water is coming through this spot. Trust me. We experienced a heavy monsoon storm with lots of rain and hail. At one point we had a river flowing through the site. The water absorbed quickly after the storm, but we had to avoid muddy areas. Despite the weather, we still had an excellent stay in the campground. The bathroom/shower area is brand new and top notch. We were in a premier spot, but other areas which are still nice could be reserved for less money. All in all, we're going to return...just not in monsoon season.

The bathhouse here is new and looks nice. The showers are $1 for each 90-second token. The water is NOT hot. The location and lack of alternatives make it worth it.

You cannot check in until 3:00. Not even 2 minutes! “Fred” the camp host is gruff, rude and not helpful. His wife “Kim” is pleasant and kind. He patrols the campground in his golf cart looking for violations. I observed his interactions with other guests. Not pleasant. A woman was checking in before me and she told him the site and dates where she was staying. He insisted that she give him the last name of the reservation, which she did not know. The reservation was booked by another guest. He finally let her in and said to me “ you’re camping and you don’t know the name of the other people you’re camping with?” He was just plain rude! It is such a beautiful place to camp but ruined by rude staff at both parks and rec and Fred.
