Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 14, 2021This is a small Forest Service CG above 9,000' on Sunshine Mesa, close to Telluride. The sites were the very small, but they were spread out and private. This was not the cleanest CG I have stayed at and the pit toilets had a sort of vacuum thing going on. I'll leave it at that.
The CG is in a nice location and there are views towards Mt. Wilson from a little trail on the edge of the CG.
I would not recommend that larger RVs attempt this CG. the sites are small and there is not a ton of room for turning around. It is first come, first serve, and it fills up early. You are taking a risk on a weekend, but if it full, you can find boondocking sites down near Trout Lake and Lizardhead Pass.
The CG was exceptionally quiet. There is no cell phone service at this CG. Even in the July heat, this CG was very cold over night and I ran the heat.

beautiful setting super easy access. Nice trail between sites 9 and 11 to go watch the sunset or have a day walk too. Camp host (Barb) was awesome.

Went to Telluride without any reservations thinking it would be easy to find a walk-up campsite... nope! This was the only open campsite just outside of Telluride that wasn’t completely full and it was a good stop! Super clean and well kept. Attendant stays right on site. We got a site right next to a pond, hung our hammocks and relaxed. Bathroom, hookups, and water spigot available. You can even purchase firewood!

Great location near Telluride and closer to Mountain village. Incredible Mountain View’s from the campground. Campground Host super professional.
At the moment only pot a potty. Sign says next summer 2023 they’ll have water and toilets running. Dry camping for now. Firewood for sale by host - $10 a bundle. Some road noise from CO145. Picking a site further back would have less. Some pull through and some back in. Site 12 has great views and is pull through. Might be tuff for big campers getting in and fitting into a site. Verizon service very poor.

We stayed here Sept 13-16 2023 in our 28ft pull trailer. We were in space# 17. It was very clean and quiet. The Hosts were very nice and hospitable.
There are no hookups, but generators are allowed.
We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we ever pass this way.
