Restrooms, boat ramp (no big boats), $20 per night. Beautiful lake with 3.1 mile walking path. Nice beach for hanging out. Lots of picnic areas. Camp Store. Wheelchair accessible. Loop A & B campgrounds are closest to the lake. Sites are in wooded area, vary in size, Loop B. Great for kids.

This was our 2nd choice for a place to stay for the Eclipse, and it turns out we got lucky. The campground is clean, sites are spaced out well, and the mountain lake is really really nice. Bathrooms were always clean, camp hosts were great. Town of Sweetwater is about 15 miles away, has gas, grocery store and a few small eateries (good BBQ place too). Drive the whole Cherohala Skyway, it's scenic and at the other end is another great mountain lake.

This area is known for its beauty, mainly the mountains that offset the lake within the campground are just amazing. There is ample room in most of the sites here although the website makes it seem like there is a 25’ max. For a full review check out my video review on YouTube (linked). My largest complaint is a new rule they started apparently this year that says your hammocks can only be hung within your timbers at your campsite.

We have been camping here for almost 10 years. I'm just now getting around to writing a review. Every time we stay, we think "this is the best place on earth" to camp. If you love the mountains, water, biking, kayaking, fishing, and camping, this is your destination. The camp store is a fun little place to go hang out and get ice cream. There's a 3.1 mile bike trail around the lake or you can bike to Bald River Falls off the main road. The fishing isn't "great", but for kids, it's enough. Motorized boats aren't allowed, which makes it even more enjoyable for kayaking. There's even a beach. Did I mention electricity, hot showers and water all for $20/night. It's the best!

Indian Boundary is a gorgeous camping area that includes a small general store, kayak rentals, lake with beach access, fishing pier, sand volleyball, picnic areas, and more. If you are thinking about camping in the Cherokee National Forest, this is the place for you!
