“clean, comfortable and beautiful”
Taos Valley RV Park and Campground became a part of the Santa Fe Chalet Resorts, Inc. family in May of 2007. The owners are determined to make Taos Valley RV Park the premier park in New Mexico and the surrounding areas. While they know most folks who have already visited the park had nothing but praise for the staff and facilities, they believe we can become even better. Watch our website to see the changes as they occur. We know you will like what you see!

This is a simple, well-kept park with pretty desert landscaping. We stayed in a campsite in the back which had a view of the mountains.
Spacing between campsites is about average, but landscaping provides privacy in some campsites. Our pull-through site shared the same side for living space as our neighbor, but the two picnic tables (one in the back, one in the front) were separated by landscaping and little fences.
The park is located about 2 1/2 miles from HIstoric Taos Plaza, which is a great location. It has a very short "trail" to walk dogs, but there are occasional prickly cacti.
Wi-fi was marginal. Not many amenities, but it has a small playground, laundry and restrooms/showers. Laundry was ok, we didn't use showers or rest rooms.

Unlike the other park with a similar name in Taos, the Taos Valley RV Park is a lush field of desert shrubs. It is a gorgeous park where every spot is surrounded by thick growth and it feels about as close to a state park campground as a private park can get.
While more expensive than the park down the road, this park is half a mile closer and vastly more pleasing to the eye. For your money, you also get access to their laundromat and they serve up free coffee and cookies throughout the day in the office.
Aside from RV spots, they’ve also got these beautiful little wooden tents, for lack of a better description, which are basically triangular structures housing a picnic table that you can tarp off and sleep in if you’re not traveling in an RV yourself.
The staff is plenty friendly enough and there are more restaurants closer to this park than the other, one of my favorite being the Five Star Burger where we experienced salmon sandwiches while a father/son duo played 60’s folk music, fingerpicking and singing complicated songs effortlessly while simultaneously watching horse races on the TVs behind the bar.
You can’t go wrong with the Taos Valley RV Park if you’re staying in Taos, New Mexico. It’s the closest park to the downtown plaza area and the family center, which we never got a chance to visit but is a stop along the bus route (an excellent bus service running every 30 – 60 minutes during the day) which apparently features a pool, a skating rink (ice in the winter, roller in the summer), and an arcade.
The downtown and plaza area of Taos are really quite cool, with plenty of restaurants and bars, and an overabundance of places to buy pricey art, your typical tourist town that the Southwest revels in, but it’s done about as well as they come.

We stayed here for three nights in our Airstream. Clean bathrooms, nice staff and very well-kept grounds with beautiful NM native landscaping. EAch RV spot has their own little table, grill, and a fence wall for a little privacy. The tent sites are cool...our kids played in the empty ones (as well as the playground) because they have a little A-frame shelter built over your picnic table. We were sad to leave this one...

Stayed here for one night and had a pleasant enough stay. Unfortunately when we arrived the power had gone out in town and so even though we were connected to shore power, we didn't get to use it until around 7PM. Wi-fi was also down until that time.
But besides that, the campground itself was clean and tidy. Each space had bushes around to give it some privacy and we liked that each had its own trash can.
The site was located a few miles from Taos plaza. It was easy to find parking for our 25-ft camper at the Our Lady of Guadalupe church lot on Camino de la Placita and Loretta place and use that as a starting point for exploring the plaza and Bent Street.

We stayed here in a pull through site (which was very long and could accommodate a very large rig).
Staying in a more expensive park like this and in a more premium site is very unlike us, but Deseray had fallen in a nearby parking lot as we were driving through the area and hit her head and had a concussion. So we needed a place to stay for a few nights. And this place was the closest and the pull through the easiest and quickest.
The park had some of the nicest desert landscaping I have seen and it was very close and convenient to groceries and other daily needs as well as only a short drive to the areas tourist activities.
The park was relatively quiet most of the time. It is right next to a school and when they take recess you can hear the kids playing and making noise.
The couple that managed the park were great, we were playing it day by day, and they didn't mind me coming in each morning to pay for another day as we figured out our plans.

Arrived in Taos after hours. Grabbed a night spot. Located on the outskirts of town/close. Level sites with concrete ramps over gravel. Has bbq and picnic table.
A bit dated, but basically clean and safe. Some road noise.

Wish we had been able to stay longer, however our destination was farther North. Great area, quiet, rusticly clean, free bath/house with showers, all set in a No. N.M. desert setting. Lots of native plants, accented by homemade site dividers. Walking around you can't miss the shelters that are on some sites. Other than the shower house, we didn't use any other facilities. Our site had water and electric, with a dump station located near the exit. There were Class A motorhomes down to tent trailers and a few pitched tents. If you require green manicured lawns, this isn't for you, BUT if you like friendly hosts and fellow campers without frills, give it a try. Great place, see ya next time.

Location was great. Only a few minutes drive to downtown, shops and services.
I was disappointed that the pictures on line did not really match the actual park. Park looks very tired. Our site was gravel with W/E. There is a dump on the way out but it’s in an awkward location and on the wrong side. We had the loop the campground twice to dump.
Bathrooms and laundry are adequate but really tired looking.
Sites are odd that you face on direction and you’re neighbor faces the other. You step out of your trailer looking at your neighbor’s door. Two picnic tables between the sites with a screen to seperate - very odd and not really private.

We spent one night at Taos Valley RV Park while visiting friends. Sites are paved with nice desert landscaping in between. The campground is tidy and conveniently located (walking distance to a few restaurants).
