“Step Back Into The 1850s at Taos' Oldest Museum”
Purchased by famed cowboy Kit Carson for his bride in 1843, this 3-room adobe home displays artifacts, antique firearms and other pioneer belongings, Kit Carson memorabilia and an exhaustive supply of books about New Mexico. Step back into the 1850s at Taos' Oldest Museum... Kit Carson House was a home of frontiersman Kit Carson in Taos, New Mexico, United States. It is operated now as a house museum. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1963.
The museum and the staff were extremely informative. The staff were able to answer every question we had. The video was also informative and well done. The space is not huge given that it is not much larger than Kit’s house, but filled with so much. Definitely worth a trip to learn about the history of the area and Kit’s life.
