Natural surroundings meet total luxury at this Native American inspired oasis. El Monte Sagrado is a paradise designed to relax and rejuvenate. Choose from 48 Taos Mountain rooms, 18 Native American Suites, 6 Casitas or one of our 12 luxurious Premier or Global Suites. In addition to the many events held at El Monte Sagrado, you can enjoy a relaxing day at the spa, browse the inspiring art gallery or experience the rich culture of Taos. Taos is an inspiring landmark luring visitors to taste the distinctive flavor of the town. As home to the Tiwa speaking Native American tribe of Pueblo people, the Taos Pueblo, at approximately 1,000 years old, has been designated a National Historic Landmark. Constructed entirely of adobe, the Pueblo is said to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the USA. Taos offers plenty of activities from world-class alpine skiing, fly fishing and rafting to hot air ballooning, llama trekking and mountain climbing. Whether guests come to immerse themselves in an ancient culture, stroll through local galleries in town, satisfy their adventurous spirit or simply sightsee among the breathtaking New Mexican landscape, Taos offers its visitors an experience that is never forgotten.
Such amazing artistic detail put into the design of this hotel. Very clean, huge bathroom, the best shower! Very beautifully decorated and has the artistic feel of Taos. It is a large area with landscape, a pond, space to feel apart from town a little bit. They also run a free shuttle around town, which was great!
Nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent restaurant, beautiful location with scenic mountain views in historic Taos and everything it offers. We have stayed here multiple times and plan on staying there some more.
(Pushed the wrong button) continue.... This place is absolutely gorgeous! But when we arrived there was no one to greet us and tell us where to check in. We just walked around till we found it. There was only one person checking in guests even though there was 3 people in the office. Those that were working were very nice and apologetic but that doesn't make for a good impression. The room was wonderful, decorated nicely and comfortable bed. I will try again sometime in hopes they will be fully staffed.
They say they were short handed. That it is hard to find help in the Fall. Excuses.
