This is a beautiful, convenient location in Superior. Sunny and Suzynwere incredibly friendly and helpful.
I called ahead and talked with the owner who quoted a rate of $20/night for dry camping. Sonny the camp host asked for $30 - for a dry camp spot! I ended up paying $20 but didn't appreciate their trying to cheat me.
The subject of the February 2021 Texas cold snap came up and that led Sonny into a rant about the border wall and the XL pipeline. We don't camp for politics. We're not very political and aren't looking for campgrounds to push their political beliefs on us.
The dry camp area is a flat field. It's pretty level. It's not a very pretty area. There are some interesting old cars at Box 8 but there are also junkers.
There is a dump station. It used the same hose for fresh water as you use to rinse the waste hose. There's another water tap of you don't want to take a chance with the hose at the dump station.
We didn't use the bathrooms or the laundry.

We stayed as a Harvest Host guest. They require a $20 purchase at Porters Saloon, which the family owns. Excellent food, the BLT & homemade potato salad was excellent. They have outdoor seating if warmer. We were also able to top off our propane tank before leaving. Huge plus! Horses & a donkey on-site make a fun atmosphere. Sonny was very helpful!

We stayed two days so we could get our water heater flushed. We were in the dry camping area. The views to the east and west were nice. There was a nice sunset. It is a pretty scruffy place with quite a few permanent residents. The laundry area was nice. The shower had been remodeled with corrugated roofing for walls but it wasn't cleaned the two times I used it-wear your flip flops! It could use some clothes hooks too. We dumped when we got there and were able to use one of the full hookup sites, as the dump station was basically blocked by what appeared to be a permanent camper. Chris is who answers the phone but most the work was done by Sonny. He filled our LP tank when we came back a week later. I think it's the only propane in town. We hiked at Arnett Canyon and the boondocking out there looked nice-take Panther Dr. to Telegraph Canyon Rd. to find it. We ended up spending two weeks at Oak Flat Campground up past Queen Creek Canyon, see my review. Sonny said I could take some lemons and grapefruit. They were very good.

This place was about the same as last year, except Sonny is no longer there (with his rabid Republicanisms) so it seemed friendlier. We did meet the owner, Chris, who got us propane and let us leave our rig for a week in the dry camping area while we were gone to NC. He charges $45/mo for storage, so we'll be back in a month to leave the RV another month while we are gone on a trip to SE Asia. There are two large capacity washers and dryers, which worked well. The shower was still sub-par and didn't seem to have been cleaned in some time but the water was hot. We did use the dump station, which was not as weird as it first appears. I think he charges $15 for that if you aren't staying there. There's great boondocking just over the hill from him on Arnett Rd., BTW.
Just park in the flat area on the south end for dry camping. The RV electric sites are all weirdly placed, so you will probably have to be directed to your spot, if you book one.
There's chickens around somewhere close, a barking dog, and a squeaky roof vent. Superior now has 5G, so cell service was smoking fast.

The property is large, clean, and separated into different areas. There is RV storage, full hook-up sites, an open area for boon-docking events, etc. The water pressure was great, and the electric current remained steady. The site owners have a connection with Porters Saloon, which is close by. The food there was excellent! My wife and I went there two days in a row to sample more of the menu. I highly recommend the Superior Burger and/or the BLT. Both were loaded with bacon. We will be back!

Enjoyed the quietness and the country feel. Still close to shopping and medical in Phoenix area. Would love a return visit. Spent the winter of 22/23 there.

Nothing fancy, but a solid home base for the surprisingly good area for exploring and southwest history. Owned by a founding family, Box 8 offers the essentials for semi dry camping. The large dirt lot has plenty of space, a shower and laundry room are on site, water and dump station are included on the property. Propane is also available. Beautiful views of surrounding mountains, coyotes chattering at night and a safe location add up to a good spot.
