“fun in the sun!”
A walk along Stuart's Riverwalk takes you along the St. Lucie River starting at Historic Downtown Stuart. You'll stroll past parks and restaurants and enjoy the view of the river. There's a stage at the head of the Riverwalk that hosts a variety of musical events that run on Sundays from October through May, including the Rockin' Riverwalk Music Series and the Riverwalk Jazz Series - we visited during the first one of this year, and there were a few vendors set up, and more were expected for the following weeks. There's also a Sunday Green Market by City Hall, accessible from the Riverwalk. Also at the head of the Riverwalk is a large docking area for boats, free and open to the public. We've used these docks pretty much every time we boat on this section of the St. Lucie River, and always take time to walk through the Historic Downtown area, grab a slice of pizza, and visit the Heritage Museum.
This is the perfect place to spend a sunny Florida Sunday afternoon strolling through the quaint streets of downtown Stuart. There are plenty of restaurants to chose from, whether you're looking for family friendly or romantic and intimate. After dinner you will definately want to stop for an ice cream or piece of home-made fudge at one of the the shops offering delectable treats! The many boutiques offer something for everyone. Bring a chair and set-up by the river while listening to bands playing or stroll on the pier to watch the activities
