They give out no rules sheet yet there are lots of rules. I have no issue with rules - it makes a place run smoothly and lets people know what is acceptable and what is not. Apparently, they used to post them and some tore them down. They have lots of permanent residents so we did not know this when we made our reservations. Since they seemed to be a little rowdier than we liked, we moved but had to move to a water and electric site. Only two rows of full hookups with the residents taking up the majority of those. The campsites are not usable as far as sitting in chairs or at the picnic tables as the natural vegetation (sand burs)and has taken over with no trimming or mowing done. I don't expect manicured lawns in desert areas but a little control would work wonders. The young lady in the office said she was in the process of trying to hire a grounds person. Fireworks are prohibited (in their rules!) but some of the residents were shooting them off occasionally to scare off the birds (apparently they did not like them). The young lady in the office was quite nice and helped as much as she could but we never had any interaction with the owner. They have a lot of work to do if they want to attract more campers. The charge of $45 was pretty high considering what we got for that money. They get a pass for having acceptable wifi. We stayed there for the purpose of visiting the sandia crest, which worked.

Chose this campground for 2 reasons- 1)Passport America 2) On the way to Flagstaff and centrally located for day trips to Santa Fe and surrounding area. I was originally booked for 6 days as I was on my way to Flagstaff and had a few days to kill. Extended my stay due to a change in route. The park is clean, new picnic tables at every site. Gravel pads where a bit narrow but level. There is a road that goes all the way around the park and is great for morning dog walks. I did get a full hookup site as there were only about 10 rigs there with a few coming and going. Did not experience any of the noise or rowdiness mentioned in other post. They have 4 horse stables and tack rooms, a small play ground for kids, a "dog park" which was a small penned a couple of dog waste stations. And they had the fastest wifi I have experienced in a RV park

As a Good Sam Lifetime Member and an RVer for 23 years Cuervo Mountain RV park is the worst experience we have ever had on the road. Unfortunately we changed our plans to get more miles on the road. BIG MISTAKE! I called Rick ahead of our arrival to ensure availability of a PT FHU and he said he had availability. Instead of making the reservation on their website, Reserve America, I wanted to be sure to get the Good Sam 10% discount since Cuervo Mountain is a Good Sam park. Upon arrival Rick stated the rate was $58 and if I wanted the Reserve America rate of $51.50 for me to reserve online!!! He later relented and took my credit card number and directed us to our site. The park was full with permanent residents due to a nearby construction project and the sites close together and the water hook up underground (to prevent freezing). We stayed one night (thank God) and upon leaving the next day I sent Rick an email requesting a refund for the Good Sam discount rate with no response. On the Cuervo Mountain website it states: “From the time you arrive until the time you leave, you will be treated like family. As owner he further states: “You know the importance of family, good friends, and a loving and caring environment along with that special called customer satisfaction. If you are not completely satisfied feel free to contact me.” After sending two emails with no response, I plan to post negative reviews on all social media that Cuervo mentioned on their website. Good Luck Rick when the construction project is complete and your permanents depart and you will have to depend on transients like us for your income stream.
We camped at Cuervo Mountain RV Park in a 45’ Newmar diesel motorcoach.

Nice quiet place. Newer park so nice facilities. Goat heads everywhere! Be careful of walking your dogs as there are rattlesnakes on the property.

Quiet and off the hwy but not the best place. Lots of goatheads and dog poop in a big gravel lot. We were charged $67 and I don't feel the value was there.
Rick was pleasant to deal with but obviously taking advantage of being one of very few spots east of Albuquerque.
Hard pass next time!

Stayed here overnight in the middle of June 2023. Got into town about 730 pm and called to see if there was availability. A nice gentleman immediately answered the phone, took our info, and gave us directions to a row with availability. Our 35’ trailer fit easily and 50amp hookup was available. It was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
