“offering a stay in one of the most picturesque areas in Louisiana”
Lake Rosemound, one of the most picturesque areas in Louisiana with rolling hills and towering trees, is home to the Lake Rosemound Inn Bed and Breakfast. The perfect place for a family reunion, retreat, romantic getaway, honeymoon, anniversary, or a few days of rest and relaxation. Leave all your cares and worries aside and just sit on an old fashioned porch swing and watch the spectacular sunset. What is now the Lake Rosemound Inn was built in 1963 as a clubhouse for the residents of private Lake Rosemound. After being used as a restaurant for many years, the building sat empty for two years. Jon H. Peters, a long-time Lake Rosemound resident, decided it would be a great retirement prospect for his mother Jeane. So he purchased the three-acre property in January of 1992. After extensive renovation, this impressive home was opened as Lake Rosemound Inn Bed and Breakfast in October 1992. All four guest rooms have a lake view. The Rosemound Suite has a king-size bed, a trundle bed facing a working fireplace, and huge private bath with a Jacuzzi for two. The Feliciana Suite has a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a parlor with a futon, and a private bath with a Jacuzzi for two. The Sunrise and Sunset rooms have queen beds and private baths. All rooms have 25-inch cable televisions and telephones. A popular spot among guests is the Clubhouse Parlor with darts, Brunswick pool table, television, stereo and famous "help yourself" ice cream bar. Let your host, Jeane, start your morning with a hearty full country breakfast. Guests are welcome to use the Common Kitchen equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, convection oven, gas grill and dishwasher. The Inn is just minutes from historic St. Francisville, antebellum homes, and hiking at Clark Creek. Come enjoy fishing right from the dock and canoeing on beautiful Lake Rosemound. Going north you can visit Woodville, Mississippi where you will find the Woodville Methodist Church, the oldest Methodist building in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Just east of Woodville is Rosemont Plantation, the home of Jefferson Davis. Natchez, Mississippi is not too far off either.
