MISERABLE. I am at the park right now, in my hotel room. I was here only one day and I have four more days to go. I am going home. All the pictures you see of Zion show beautiful nature and majestic vistas. What you actually get when you get here is shoulder to shoulder crowds. $500/night hotels. Lines 300 feet long to wait for trams. Stores inside the park so crowded you can't even walk the isles without getting pushed or shoved by the crowd several times before you leave. Loud voices screaming in your ear. Nothing but unbearable crowds everywhere. Then, if you are lucky, you might be able to look over someone's shoulder to see a cliff at part of the park. It is like Times Square here. National parks should be reserved ONLY for Americans. Half the people here are from other countries and they ruin the experience for Americans. I am going home today - ditching my plans to stay the week. I will never try this again.
Absolutely one of the if not the best park in the Southwest. Is #Epic and ordered well! The information was readily available and the visitor center was well done. Move slow, take it in, and enjoy! We have four children and the park's structure and accessibility of it made the trip simple.
Really solid visitor center. They show a film and do a great job helping you plan out the day's hikes.
