Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 02, 2022This trail is open to foot traffic only. The trail circles Bull Prairie Lake, which is stocked annually with trout. The Lake offers a number of places to fish from, including three floating docks and several benches. Bull Prairie Campground is also located adjacent to the trail and offers potable water and a dump station for campers and RV's. Bull Prairie charges $4.00 a night for camping, or $2.00 for those with a Golden Age Card. There are free day-use areas within, and around, the campground. This is quite a beautiful spot to spend the day fishing, hiking or just relaxing in the sunshine under the tall pines.
Camped here May 25 and there were few people, the campground was not officially open so there was no fee. Most sites were in the trees (conifers), but we chose one in full sun because it was chilly. Most sites appeared fairly level and there was one trailer about 26 feet long. No hookups. No trash service. Clean vault toilet. There is an OHV campground nearby so it would probably get busy on the weekends. Enjoyed many birds, and a few deer wandered in early in the morning. No cell service with US Cellular. The nearest store, fuel, and dump is in the little town of Spray, about 25 winding mountain miles away.
