Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 19, 2023We have been camping here for a long time. The location is great, right at the beginning of the Dark Canyon trail, and decent fly fishing in Anthracite Creek. The campground has been slowly coming unglued, as the Forest Service has outsourced management to a private company. $16 per night gets you a campsite that is free from weeds, a clean bathroom, and trash. The water hasn’t worked in years, and tables, fire rings, and other infrastructure hasn’t been maintained for ages. The camp hosts do their best, but probably don’t make minimum wage. We will continue to visit, although it’s sad to watch Forest Service campgrounds slowly crumble.
