Artist and conservation advocate Patti Jacquemain founded the Wildling Museum in 1997. With her devoted husband Dave Gledhill and their friendsworking tirelessly, the Wildling opened its doors in Los Olivos in 2000.Since then the Wildling has hosted over 40 amazing art exhibitions andcountless programs, trips and tours. The Wildling uses art as a tool to educate and inspire people to better understand and care for our nature’sdwindling natural and wilderness areas. Having just moved to a new locationin Solvang, 2013 is the beginning of a new era for the Wildling. The Wildling has a small, diverse and growing permanent collection ofart–nature photography is strongly represented and includes area artistsJeff Jones, Ines Roberts, Tom Millea and Roger Craton. We also have severaloil paintings by historic painter John Fery, an Austrian who emigrated toAmerica in the 1860s and painted scenes small and grand of the AmericanWestern landscape. Other historic artists that are represented in thecollection include Russell Chatham, Ray Strong, Lockwood de Forest andEverett Ruess.
