Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 08, 2023We arrived just after the Labor Day weekend, which meant that there were no crowds and plenty of decently level gravel sites from which to choose. We picked #21 because it meant no neighbors on one side and a view of the lake on that side. Sites are full hook ups, with picnic tables and fire rings, and there is an automated pay station which accepts credit cards. This CG is very easy to access from the highway, but that also means that there is road noise (not a problem when inside the RV.) There are some trees offering a bit of shade. All the sites here are right on the lake, which is the main attraction for soaking, swimming, or boating. There are flush toilets, showers, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after soaking or using the lake's mineral-rich mud. There is a long-time host on site, who made contact quickly and was eager to be helpful.
The entire town is within walking distance from the campground, with an Historic Door Murals route, a strange and run-down Par 3 golf course, playgrounds, cafes, and shops. Being after the regular season, some things weren't open or had reduced hours. It is a funky little town, with some charming aspects, and it made for a very nice overnight stop.

This is a gem of a park. (misses 5 stars due to road proximity and lack of grass areas)
We planned to stay one or two nights and stayed 4!
Sites are more or less level and all gravel. So, it is a bit dusty but the lake is excellent. You do probably want some swim-shoes as it is rocky getting in.
The sites are about average distance apart and we had one that backed onto the main road so we had road noise. This was also COVID time so the restrooms were not open for use. The camp host was very nice and the park is in walking distance of a grocery store and some of the town.
We really enjoyed the time we had there as it was hot and the lake was great to cool off in. We're definitely planning to stay again.

We were here in mid November, so it was very quiet with just a few other campers. There is a self serve pay kiosk at the restrooms, and it charged just 12.50 so I assume that's the winter rate. No host on site as far as we can see, another camper said the local police stop by to make sure people have paid. The sites back right up to the lake, and the view is lovely. The park itself looks very clean and well cared for. It's on hwy 17 so some noise but not bad. Overall, a very nice spot along our way.

It was very hot when we came, but luckily you can walk right down to the lake from your spot and cool off! We had a good time, no issues (other than had some trouble finding the side gate, since the main gate is currently closed)

Soap Lake is beautiful at night, but our site is the closest to the busiest road. Book early and lock your site close to the water and you won't regret it.
