Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 27, 2021For $12 it was perfect. This is the kind of place you only stay 1 night on the way to somewhere else. The busy highway becomes white noise at night, while you blow mud out of your nose from the dust, but the price was right :) The maps provided are useless- enter in the intersection of Hwy 20 and Indian Ford Road in your GPS. No water, pit toilets, garbage cans.
Campground was nice enough, though I'm glad it didn't rain, ground is all dirt. (Access is paved). Picnic table and fire ring. Biggest drawback is traffic noise - US 20 is a constant drone. No dump station, no water, vault toilet. All in all, just nothing special, but cheap enough. Price reflects Golden Pass. Most sites are very spacious and look reasonably level.
My bigger issue is Sisters, OR itself - this is why there is chocolate and vanilla - a way over the top cutsified tourist town to me.

The good: A pretty campground with spacious sites in a forested area Very convenient close to Sisters and Black Butte. Lots to explore. There were also trails from the campground that looked interesting. The campground itself was quiet w birds/wildlife.
The bad: the road noise and I’m usually fairly tolerant but it was a constant presence. Only got quiet late at night.

Right passed the cute little town of Sisters, OR. Our site was very spacious and lots of room between other campers. Afternoon shade which was a lifesaver since it was 91F.
It’s close to the road so some noise. Otherwise, a definite thumbs up!

We’ve stayed here often for a quick trip over the mountains. Have always been able to find a spot, even in busier months. Nice basic campground with good sized sites and easy access from Hwy 20. Close to Sisters for an easy trip to town for supper or something forgotten. Lots and lots of trails for hiking and exploring. Also, good cell service for AT&T. Downside is the proximity to the Hwy means quite a bit of road noise.

We stayed here for two nights because we were attending a concert in Bend. It just so happens it was during a heat wave, so we had that to deal with. I would agree that the campgrounds are very dusty, so be ready for that, but they are also well-maintained.
I disagree with the road noise complaints, though to be fair, we had our doors and windows closed and the generator running until 10pm. By that time there wasn’t much traffic driving down the road. This is also a great place to stay if you want to visit Sisters, Oregon.
Most of our neighbors seemed to be using the campground as a place to crash while they went about activities during the day (kayaking, bike riding, etc.).

On my way to the Oregon coast for a reunion with two musician friends. Made it as far as Sisters and was looking for an overnight stop. Indian Ford provided the perfect stop, despite some very thick wildfire smoke that left me feeling like I'd been licking an ashtray.
Other reviewers are correct that the noise from the adjacent Highway 20 is significant, but this is one situation wherre hearing loss can be an advantage ... popped the aids out and there was no problem. The site (#2) is spacious and I had no trouble leveling. The road is paved, but the sites are not and are pretty dusty. I would most definitely stop here again, though ... had the place all to myself.
Price reflects Senior Access Pass discount.
