Just stopped in here to try and snag a shower, but they said over the 4th of July weekend they only allow their guests to use the showers, and they only ever let paid campers use their laundry.

Fair enough, just something to note.

It may have just been for the 4th of July weekend, too, but the price was $20 / person / night...so for our family of four (including a 4 & 6 year old), that would have been an $80 campsite.

Otherwise, tight spots, an easy walk to town, and no AT&T service (as is true with all of Silverton and the immediately surrounding area).

We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Mountain RV Park! I t is an easy walk to town and a good location for watching the trains! WiFi was good and the owners were very helpful! We will definitely stay here many more times!

We did not stay here, but had a code brown emergency and used their dump station.
The dump station was $10, and had a non-threaded rinsing hose. No potable water.
Potable water would have been an extra $10.
The lady at the office was grumpy; sorry for trying to give you money.

If you need full hookups, this is one of about three options in Silverton. The campsites are all cramped with very tight space. Big rigs can fit here. See our blog post for more information and photos.

Concur with the more positive reviews of this CG. We were there on 9/29, the day before they closed for the season. It was not near full capacity which explains why we able to book a site at the very last minute. Owner sited us on the last row facing the San Juan Mountain range. Close to the DSNGR station where historic railroad cars can be viewed. Just a few steps away from there to the downtown district. Great one nighter!

The one negative is the CG parking surface. The large gravel makes its difficult to place leveling blocks.

Rv Park was about half full in late June. Bad part about this park. They park RV units tail to tail, about 18” apart.(barely enough to walk) This means if you enjoy a patio or toy hauler view from your garage it’s not possible.
You can’t load or unload your OHV without pulling out of your spot. Seems unreasonable for $66.00 a night.

The good, Silverton is a neat old mining town from the 1800’s with plenty of dining options and beautiful mountains in all directions.
