Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on February 18, 2023We needed to pick up a package in Silver City so decided to hang out at Silver City RV Park for a couple of days while awaiting arrival of our mail. They offered $25 primitive sites with access to laundry, restrooms, showers plus it was in the "heart of Silver City". That was a plus since we wanted to explore the area.
When we arrived, it was a little off-putting to see how tight the sites are...and almost full. I think some are full time residents. The host gave us a full hook-up site which is normally $34 for $25. Can't complain about that. The showers are large with hot water. Decent laundry. Coffee and donut shop up by the office. Dump on site. Nicely treed. A few "cabins" are scattered around the park. Even a dog run on a hilly corner. It wasn't great but, hey, they had poop bags so I'm good. There is public WiFi with sketchy service.
What I didn't like was the ridiculously tight sites. We were assigned site one which is next to Gila cabin. Had to park the truck in front of our 23' travel trailer otherwise we couldn't open doors on either vehicle. It was slightly on the road but no one seemed to care. Our site had a picnic table which was partially buried under dried leaves that also covered the back of the lot. I swept them into a pile along the fence. It was noisy with neighbors and cars. Someone nearby really likes their loud mufflers because it sounded like a drag race until midnight.
I'm not sure we'd stay here again. I gave it 3 stars because of the price reduction. If you have a large rig, be prepared for some creative parking. I know it can be done because there are big rigs here. I just don't know how they got in.

We were looking for a campground close enough to town for walking. This is definitely the place! We walked around town which was about five minutes away on two days with our dog. This is a doggie friendly place with several interesting shops & good restaurants. There is a nice large park about three blocks from the RV campgrounds which our dog loved.
The restrooms at the campground were spotless & owners/managers/staff were very friendly & helpful. They helped me set up my TV to receive their free cable service since this was the first time we had used cable. We met many nice people in permanent or long-term sites. While sites are close to each other they have trees, fences or other boundaries that separate them enough that we didn’t feel cramped. They have a fenced in dog walk/run area allowing off-leash runs inside the RV park. As a bonus they have a coffee shop on site offering breakfast & other snacks including yummy donuts made freshly every morning. Very hard to walk past the smell of fresh donuts first thing in the morning! 🍩😋👍

Our listed nightly rate was based on the monthly rate of $350, we stayed two months at the monthly rate. (Electric is additional).
Clean on-site laundry room, small but seemingly big enough for the park even when it's full (as it was when we stayed)
On-site cafe/ coffee shop in the RV park office, it's the morning hangout spot to meet your neighbors.
The location of this park is amazing, walkable to so many great parts of town.
Park is a good mix of permanent residents (with a few mobile homes), monthly renters, weekenders, and even some tent campers. Silver City is on the Continental Divide Trail, and the park provides an overnight option for the through hikers to shower, restock, etc. Pretty cool to see them come through fairly often.
We did pick up some hitch hikers here (mice) that were a bit of an ordeal to get rid of, but it was that time of year, we don't blame the park.
Lots of staff working to keep this place looking sharp, they're all friendly and helpful.
Sites are a bit close together, but it's a downtown RV park, so that's to be expected.
We had no trouble getting our 40' RV backed in to our spot. Sites are gravel with a picnic table (no concrete).

We were coming in from boondocking and needed to restock, dump and top off tanks. Perfect small RV park to do just that! Laundry 1.50 wash &1.25 to dry. Showers and bathroom. Very clean. Just a block off the main road but has lovely trees and it feels very secluded. Went to dinner at a local brewery Little Toad. Walmart and gas nearby. Nice folks in the office. WiFi available.

There are really only a couple of sites large enough for a 38 foot 5th wheel and if the site behind us had not been empty both when we arrived and again when we left, I'm not sure we could have gotten into our site or out of it. The park is not laid out to allow for "swing room".
Also due to a large tree in our site, with our slides, we were really crammed into the site.
The park borders a dirt road, so lots of dust.
Pro - great location to enjoy the Blues festival that was taking place over Memorial Day weekend.

The park itself was not bad. We are not RV park people, but we wanted to be walking distance to the old town and this was. Bathrooms were pretty clean and the laundry room was ok (only 2 dryers that weren’t broken). It was a quiet park, but LOTs of homeless all around. They didn’t bug us, but we didn’t notice them using the locked restrooms (must have strained a code somehow) a few times. The town itself wasn’t much to see. Lots of closed stores and restaurants. A few really good restaurants though (Jalisco’s is excellent and the ice cream place near it was the best ice cream I’ve ever had). Cell service isn’t bad, but we had issues working from it after everyone woke up and started bogging it down.

We only needed to dump and fill the freshwater. The devastation is closed and has been removed, but the park had an empty space so they allowed us to dump and fill for $10. Only an option if they have an empty campsite though. They were very friendly and helpful when we called ahead over the phone.

I wanted to stay somewhere close enough to walk to the historic district. This RV park was the closest. It was just a few flat, easy walking blocks to reach a good variety of shops and restaurants. The town is quaint. Stop in at the visitors center first, they are helpful. When I visited there was a bicycle race in town and the visitor center was helpful to identify the schedule of road closures for the bike race. I did some thrift shopping while I was there. This was just a quick stop on my way to see the Gila Cliff Dwellings and the Catwalk, both are must see tourists sites that are NOT BUSY! The spot I had was perfect for me in my camper-van with a small deck that overlooked the “creek”. The RV park was quiet. The bathrooms and showers were clean. There was full hookups. There was cable, wifi and a good cell signal. I am a solo female camper and I felt safe staying here.
