Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on June 16, 2023We were heading west on Interstate 80 with a final destination of the Tetons, and we had to stop here due to a late season winter storm that was hitting eastern Wyoming. Interstate 80 was closed from Cheyenne west for a couple of days.
We opted for a site with just electric to save $$, but full hook-ups are available. There are discounts for AAA, AARP, Sam's Club, and Cabela's Club Members. Facilities include heated bathrooms and private showers as well as a laundry. And we took advantage of all of them while here for 3 nights. Oh, and WiFi was awesome! There was no indication that there even was WiFi - but it popped up on my phone, and I connected with no password. It was a strong signal.
Access was easy right off Interstate 80, and while you can see the highway from the campground, the traffic noise was minimal.
For those with horses, there is a corral. And a kennel area for pets as well.
I gave the campground a 4-star rating for Location only because it really is not a destination campground in a great location. It is a good place to stop-over for a night along the I80 corridor though. And the facilities are well-maintained.
All registration for a campsite had to take place by visiting the adjacent Cabela store. There was no one on-site. I guess this could be a problem if you arrive after store hours! There is a code required for use of facilities and only given out when you go to the store to register. Hence the reason for the 4-star rating on Access.
Overall, we were grateful for a decent place to wait out the storm. P.S. If you are tempted to go out for breakfast, steer clear of Grandma Jo's downtown - a real greasy spoon!

Nice suprise overnight stay, we used full hookup which worked as expected. Also had electric and dry sites available as well as a dump station. The campgroud maintenance seemed in fair/poor condition....our charcoal grill was full of trash and cigarettes, the bathrooms were in fair condition and the showers were disgusting. Convenient access to highway, fuel, food, grocery and of course Cabela's. Would stay again over a rest stop or Walmart overnight.

Unlike other Cabelas, this location - the Corporate Headquarters - has an actual full-service RV park.
The location is very convenient, just off the highway. The facility is well-maintained and clean.
Considering the location and amenities, we felt this price was a very good value for a short stay when compared to other options. It would be a good choice for a longer-term stay if one wanted to spend some time in Sidney.
Sites are first-come. Upon arrival, select an empty site and occupy it, then pay inside the Cabelas at a cashier. There is no staff at the actual campground, which is about 100 yards from the store.
There is some noise from the highway, but it is not too bad. It could be distracting when trying to sleep with the windows open.

We stayed here due to the location which is right off of Interstate 80 in Sidney, Nebraska. We had an electric/water site, but there were electric only sites (very short driveways). Site was gravel and very level. You have to go over to the Cabelas store to register and pay for your site. Also they have discounts for clubs like Good Sams. We did not use the bathrooms or landry while we were there. The campground was well maintained. There is also a few restaurants and a Walmart close by. We got snowed on during the night, it was early October when we were there.

This was a quick 1night stay heading to Wyoming. Easy access off the expressway. Noise level was not an issue. We selected full hookups which was great. We stayed at site nbr 20. The sites are very close together. We took advantage of the laundry room which was nice if the machines worked. 1 out of 4 dryers worked and a family of 5 was doing laundry.😩 Cost $1.00 to wash or dry. Bathrooms are very clean.👍🏽

Easy off & on to I-80. Easy in & out of park. Highway noise not a problem. A couple of places to eat close by. By joining Cabela's Club, a Visa card, you get one night stay free & couple of other perks plus a cheaper rate then Good Sam. Did not use bathroom or laundry. Sites are gravel but very level, try & pick an end site as you might get a little bite of a bigger "yard." Only drawback is registration is at the Store. Is a stretch of the legs, but store is worth seeing anyway.

Easy access and good for an overnight stay. All but a few of the sites are pull through and the utilities are appropriately placed.
I would disagree with others about highway noise, I certainly did hear it but it's way better than a rest stop.
A funny thing...I was here on a night that was supposed to drop below freezing and at 3 a.m. I heard water running. Thinking my hose had burst or some other leakage from my rig, I quickly got dressed, grabbed my flashlight and out the door - only to be met by sprinklers.
They do have wi-fi but I never was able to connect.
I did not use the facilities - which you get a code to access when you register.
Rate includes the Good Sam discount.
There is an office on the campground but it was unoccupied. Short walk up to the store and register with any cashier.
Update May 29, 2019 - I checked out the laundry and it leaves a bit to be desired. Machines have not been well cared for and two of the four driers were out of order. I'm holding off.

They don't take reservations, so drive in, find your spot and claim it. We arrived about 4:30 pm on a Wednesday and the pull-thru sites were all taken within a few hours. You'll need to stretch your legs after that drive through Nebraska so note your site number and walk over to the Cabela's store to register. Staff was very welcoming and reg was a breeze. Nice perk- they give 10% Good Sam discount. The store is open until 9pm.
Gravel roads and sites with grass and some small trees between sites. Full hookups and a separate dump station upon exit. I would describe it as basic KOA style layout with most sites being pull-thru, back-ins around one side, and tent area in another section. It's a not pretty, no frills, convenient location in the middle of not much if you are at the point you need to stop driving. Minor road noise, but since your drive was so long, the park was easy to get to off I80, and there was a site for you, you won't care. Clean laundry room and only a buck for washers and dryers. When we were there, 2 of the 4 dryers were out of service. I believe there were 4 washers.
Bathrooms were cleaner than some "resorts" we've been to. Showers had good water pressure and were nice and hot. Showers are separate from the bathrooms and are co-ed, but you have your own personal shower "room" with locking door. There's nothing worse than being in the middle of a nice shower and someone comes into the toilet next to you and ruins your day. Separate shower rooms rule.
Facility doors are all locked and you get the codes upon check-in. It's nice to see RV parks doing what they can to keep the transient, non-paying crashers from hogging the facilities.
The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is it's just not pretty. It's a good, basic place to park then leave in the morning. Although the gal said they don't have a check out time, I think this takes care of itself.
If you are heading east, the Golden Spike Tower in North Platte, NE is a nice place to stop about 2 hours away. You don't have to be a railroad buff to enjoy the largest railroad yard in the world.
If you're heading west, you can stop for a tour at the Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum in Laramie, WY. It's about 2 hours, 15 mins from Sidney.

We stopped here overnight and it was perfect. Level spaces with plenty of room and grass between. Very clean park. Didn’t use the restrooms so can’t comment on them. We walked over to the Cabela store to register and paid $27 for FHU with GS discount. The woman who checked us in was so nice and welcoming. Strong complimentary WiFi. Just an overall great place for a good night’s rest after a long driving day. Would definitely stay again.

The campground was well-maintained and conveniently located right off interstate 80. There was some noice from the interstate, but not bad. Sites were level and long enough to accommodate big rigs. Spacing was typical for a private campground. Full hook-ups. Restrooms and laundry facilities were secure and immaculate. The price quoted reflects a 20% discount because I have a Cabela's credit card. You pay for your site at the Cabela's store. Staff there were friendly and helpful. We experienced a lot of rain overnight, and noticed that site 18 was flooded in the morning. The rest of the sites seemed to have adequate drainage.
