Great abandoned truck stop, we stayed for a day and overnight. A few trucks came and went but otherwise had the place to ourselves. There are no services but there are two large gravel parking areas large enough to accommodate any size rig. Great sunrises and sunsets. It is an old abandoned truck stop so if you're opposed to boondocking in the middle of nowhere this might not be the place for you but we loved it.- cheers!
Stopped for one night on our way to Houston. We were the only ones here and it’s far enough away from the freeway that you can’t hear it. Very secluded. The only negative is that there are so many moths! We spent an hour or more getting rid of them!
Literally right off the interstate. Big gravel lot that is pretty level. Situated far enough off interstate to be pretty quiet. Truckers and folks pull in there throughout the day for a break but we were the only ones who stayed the night. 2 nights and no one bothered us.
This is literally just a dirt lot with an abandoned gas station and trailer. Super sketchy at night.
Stayed here one night traveling through TX. Basically just a dirt lot with an abandoned gas station on the other side of the street. There was some trashy and old rusted wiring, but otherwise good. There was no one else there while we were there making it very convenient and easy to find a level spot. You could definitely hear the highway, but no big deal. Cell coverage was not good. Our phones said we had full bars, but very little data coverage.
We parked under the old gas station for shade from the heat. There was trash everywhere! It was extremely windy and clouds of dust filled the air.
It was nice to park on a level and paved spot in the shade. It was close to the road for easy access but far enough that passing trucks didn't shake our trailer. The road noise was not too loud.
We saw a couple trucks pull in the lot but there was plenty of room and no one bothered us.
This worked well for us. It’s an abandoned gas station and the sign says it used to have an rv park too. It’s level parking and really not very noisy. I think a better option than the crowded rest areas. Yes, it looks pretty sketchy with the graffiti and junk around.
This is the second time we've stayed here. It looks sketchy but both times we've been here we felt safe. Honestly I don't think vehicles on the road can see us here.
A couple items of debris easily navigated. Can pull all the way around the old station handily. HUGE area to park opposite the entry if multiple rings are here. Definitely more quiet than a rest stop and nice and DARK. No visitors coming through and lights from roadway are minimal. Nothing fancy but great place to catch some zzzzs or just hang out.
Starlink signal was great. Verizon and ATT slow but present.
