Son's Island

There is nothing better than a relaxing and fun filled day on the lake! Whether you are looking for something to do on your vacation or a quick “day-cation” getaway, you and your friends and family will love spending a day on the water at Son’s Island at Lake Placid, located between New Braunfels and Seguin, TX! Son’s Island, at Lake Placid, is a beautiful, three and a half acre island paradise! You access this private hideaway by driving across a 100 foot long wooden bridge and once you do, you discover a very special place. Large cypress and pecan trees outline the perimeter of our over 4,000 feet of lakefront land. There are 40 open-air lakeside cabanas on Son’s Island that may be rented individually or in groups by the day. The cabanas are Hawaiian style huts constructed with actual palm leaves for their roof. Each cabana rental includes entry for  8 guests, though up to 15 persons per cabana (for an additional fee) may gathered comfortably. Cabanas feature: a picnic table, hammock, lounge chairs, BBQ pit, comfortable seating, bar top and stools, water and electricity and a private swimming/fishing dock per cabana.  There is plenty of room to pull up your own boat or jet ski should you choose to bring one.  A boat ramp is located only a 1/2 mile away.  We also rent kayaks, paddleboards, hydro bikes and iFloats on the island for your use.  Paddle boats are free to use by all guests as well as the frog slide, rope swing, volley ball court, horseshoes and more!  The whole island may be rented for either private parties, gatherings or celebrations and is the perfect place for an company picnic, large family reunion, office party or retreat!
