“Take a trip back in time”
Take a trip back in time and enjoy some great food when you visit HAL'S DRIVE IN restaurant located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. When you join us for a meal, you get to enjoy a casual Fifties atmosphere along with amazing homemade American food and friendly, quality service. Pyeats Ice Cream opened in June 1949 and was originally a Dairy Queen. Several owners later and with the addition of burgers, it was called Sedro Woolley Drive In. In 1964 Hal Carter bought the drive in, named it Hal's Drive In, and created the menu that is still used today. His original recipes for the hamburger sauce, (he named the "goop") and his "famous tarter sauce" have remained with the restaurant. Present owners, Bob Anderson and Cheerie Carr purchased the restaurant in 1993 after selling their food concession trailers where for six years they cooked up hamburgers and curly fries at street fairs, festivals and many more venues. Bob and Cheerie have kept all of Hal Carter's original recipes while adding even more options for their customers to enjoy.
