So I am revising my original post. Drove through today while the park was open, trash overflowing the dumpsters, standing water around water spigots/dump connections, long term renters apparently with junk around their rigs.
With some TLC it would b a nice park.
Prices now $5 higher for FHU and E/W.
The camp hosts and City must have really done some improvements based on earlier review! The sites are gravel and mostly level. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Tell camp host you want firewood and he’ll deliver it to your site (? Cost, I didn’t use any). Bathrooms/showers were spotless, grass was mown, playground, fishing, dog park and small zoo at adjoining park. Very friendly people! 7 day limit on tents ($10) and 14 day limit on RVs ($20 W/E, $25 FHU) CASH ONLY since it’s a City Park! Only one long term resident that I noticed, and that was a County Deputy who brought his marked squad car home....really cut down on problems in the campground!
Very convenient location and QUIET! Would definitely stay here again. You CAN make reservations after May 1. I stayed on a Friday night in mid-June and the host told me they only had 4 spots left that weren’t reserved.
All RV sites are pull thrus!

We were greeted immediately by the friendly on-site hostess who guided us directly into the first space. She said we could move to any other if we wanted, though. We had FHU, which was one of the reasons we chose this park, and they all worked well. There were only 4-5 other campers in the park, and none of us were crowded together.
What we hadn't realized was that this park has a lot to do. There is a small zoo, Riverside Discovery Center, at the entrance. Even if you don't visit, you can hear the lion, tiger, and bears roaring sometimes in the mornings/evenings (it was not too loud or disturbing) There are small ponds which the signs say can be fished or rowed on -- they looked kinda murky to me, though. There are lots of walking trails in the park itself, and a nice multi-use paved trail at the back of the park that goes all the way into town, about 1.5 miles one way. There is a disc golf course in the park, as well as a large, fenced dog park.
We did not use the restrooms, but they appeared clean and functional, the showers having real doors and not curtains.
Easy drive to Scotts Bluff National Monument, the area's main attraction and a beautiful place to hike up to the top of the bluff on a well-maintained trail.
We had only planned a one-day stopover but ended up staying three, taking advantage of all the activities and FHUs of the park.

Hosts were friendly, helpful and there to make sure you had what you needed. I read the earlier posts and found none of the negatives. We were there on 6/8 to 6/9/19. The weather was mild, so I told them I wanted a dry spot - didn't need electric, but would like the shade. They gave us a hook up spot, but charged for dry. Best shower ever on our month long trek. Maybe could have been more private, but clean lots of hot water. The sites were not huge, but big enough. Lots to see in the area.

Open May 1 – October 1. Got the second to last site on a Wednesday in July (you can reserve sites after the campground opens on May 1). We chose this campground for its proximity to Scottsbluff. Although there is a tent site area, the campground was filled mostly with large RVs. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and even though it was not a large campground, the host escorted us to our site. He offered several times to deliver firewood to us if we wanted. Reasonable cost for sites ($10 tent camping, $20 water and electric, $25 for full hook-up). Best sites are the ones at the end of the rows as they have a nice patch of lawn. Alcoholic beverages are permitted but must be consumed inside your rig/tent. WiFi is available but not a strong signal; using our own data worked much better. Restrooms were reasonably clean (accessed via a code) and there are showers. This campground is located within a city park and there are other facilities (fitness trail, dog park, and supposedly a zoo). I did a little exploring but rain was imminent so I didn’t wander far, however, the facilities outside the campground looked like they could have used a little TLC. Of course, there is a nearby train!

2021 camp hosts were super nice. Delivered us free firewood. The place was kept up. Train noise was not horrible and every site had a fire ring. Playground for kids and a bike path by the river was wonderful. Our kids had a great time scootering on the path. Looked like some of the path was recently poured. It would be great for dog walking and morning exercise. Negative would be that there is not many trees and wasn’t the prettiest site.

The staff was friendly. I was in a site that wasn’t very level and they let me move to another. There were a lot of people here but it was pretty quiet. The river is close by. The restrooms are clean.

We had made our reservations online the day before, long day driving we pull up and someone is in our spot. I go speak with campground host and she apologized and said the gentleman would not move and was rude even though she told him that spot was taken, no biggie she gave us another spot.
Level dirt sites, no grass just weeds. They have bathrooms and showers we didn’t use, free WiFi, picnic table at site. No trees or shade.
This is a state park but seems like no one is coming to take care of it alot the areas have big tumbleweeds growing, could be better.
There is some train noise but faint.
