Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 06, 2022I think this campsite was founded when the redwoods started growing (ancient). The people were nice, but the facility was very old, way overdue for updating. The electrical box was so wobbly that I thought it was going to fall down. It's quiet, but too tight for DP rigs. My 32' Winnebago gas unit was tight getting around the corners and through the huge trees, but doable. Passport America is good for half price for one night ($17.50). It's very close to the entrance of "Avenue of the Giants" auto tour through the redwoods. That's the reason for visiting this area, so being close is good. ATT coverage was good, Verizon was too. However my satellite dish couldn't see the southern skies for DishNetwork, due to the trees. There may be other sites that may work that are more out in the small open field of grass they put you on.

Overall good experience, it is a little old but surrounded by ancient trees. ATT has one bar, not fast even after booster.

Very old RV Park. Looks like mostly RESIDENTS that stay there full time with all their year round stuff. Smell of canibas kept us inside Our RV...Not our thing. Loud partying til after midnight. RV dump overflowed and ran all over my shoes (not as fast as I’ve used to be) and all over the ground. Stopped and told the Owner who barely looked up at me from her cell phone.
The only good thing was cell service. We were able to stream Roku through our hot spot. Oh, and the golf cart guy was friendly. Adios Stafford Campground. We won’t be seeing you again.

Sometimes you have to look deep to see the beauty amongst the trees. The managers were a sweet retired couple volunteering their time in service to their church. The maintenance man was a saint who became a friend. I recommend you take a minute to chat with the locals. They all have amazing stories to tell. The giant Redwood stumps told of the rich history of the trees and made for a great play structure for the kids. Within walking distance were horses, the river, and a spectacular Redwood Giant hidden away from the public eye. We planned to camp one night with Passport America pass for $17/night. We found ourselves there for a least a month due to RV trailer frame failure. What a unique experience! If you have the time to talk, stay a while. It may be a bit rough around the edges but I'd return there in a heart beat!

The campground isn't much at all, it was quiet (because no one was staying in it), not a place you'd expect to pay $42. Find another location, only stay here if you can't find anywhere else.

Pass this place up. Host was terribly rude, restrooms were disgusting. “Permanent” neighbors were loud all night. Just an all around bad vibe.

Easy access near 101 but no road noise.. Good for big rigs.
Looks unkempt and old fashioned- it is. However, it was great for us. Butch met us in his golf-cart (& dog Bailey). Pull through sites for us and friends in same size RV. Old park with many permanent regulars who were all friendly. Really quirky, interesting campground to walk around and enjoy amazing old, huge trees. On our site the water we connected to was brown - we think from rust, useable but not attractive. Our power 30 amp only which worked fine. Cell was decent,2/3 bars, we're on Verizon. We don't use site showers/restrooms but looked in via coded entrance, very dated, expect old facilities, this might lower our star-rating if we needed to use them I guess. We felt that we'd had a good value time discovering this little gem with awesome big trees and one particular extraordinary house built by hand in a 1200 y.o.stump. Great dog friendly stop over. Olde worldy❣️
