Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on November 21, 2021We picked this campground because of its location to Burnsville Mississippi. We had arranged a tour at the Vanleigh factory. There are three loops each arranged in semi circles. We were the furthest from the entry and were the only one in the loop. A majority of the sites are back in with a few that were pull through. They were varied length of sites to accommodate many sizes of trailers. Since there were no other occupied sites in our Loop, the shower house was locked. Each loop has its own shower house. Husband said the men's rooms were clean.
Check-in was with the host and reservations are required. Reservations can be made online through Tennessee Valley Authority. Check-in was manual, with pen and paper, they have not modernized with computers. The campground is at the base of the dam and it was fun to watch boats and barges lock through the dam.
This was close to some good restaurants; the Outpost was only 1/2 mile away and had great offerings. The Shiloh National Military site and National cemetery was an easy drive.

We stayed here August 30,2020
There was a flood here a few years back and washed the campground out, they are rebuilding.
All sites are level, electric and water, dump station not available when we stayed. Bathrooms and showers are brand new and clean.
There are 2 sets of campground hosts and they keep it real clean and tidy.
It’s a bit difficult to navigate to the park since they have closed down some of the road to the campground, the signage is not clear so we ended up on a private RV park that is being rebuilt also.
We ended up calling the Camp hosts and they have us directions.
WiFi good signal
Very quiet, we would stay here again.

We had to alter our fall plans, and reluctantly reserved the last available site here for the weekend. We lucked out, this place is real nice, quiet, and all the sites are level. TVA rebuilt it after a bad flood. #59 is one of the interior sites, so neighbors were close but no problems at all. The outer rings offer more privacy here. Golf nearby, fishing, & some good BBQ joints.

This campground was honestly one of the hardest to leave. The river flowing nearby and the people were just amazing that were camp hosting. The whole trip was amazing! The bath houses I can’t speak enough good about them. They were hot and the water was hot so unlimited shower time and they were individual rooms in the building. Honestly wonderful experience.

Fairly full when we were there. Nice site with large open lawn area to the rear. Nice level gravel site, easy access. Some odor from the pulp factory depending on wind direction. Interesting that dam has active lock. Minimum of 2 night stays.

Recently rebuilt.
Gravel sites, level, roomy.
I was in a pull through that had enough parking room for my trailer, tow vehicle, room left for a boat and another vehicle if I had them.
Private shower/bath rooms.
Barge/tug traffic was light, not a distraction.
Got pretty full during the weekend- I was there Sept 30-Oct 4, 2022.
I got a sack full of pinecones to take home. Park was recently mowed, beautiful location.
The first sections (2-3?) were shaded, lots of trees. The last section from the gate had fewer trees and lots of sun.
Not sure about amount of phone reception- my ATT worked fine for phone calls and texts. I don't use internet on my phone.

Pickwick Dam is a nice campground. Tall trees, quiet. Very clean and well maintained. The camp personnel made regular rounds. The campsites were a little more crowded than we like, but not bad. Our only major complaint was the aroma from the paper mill across the river when the wind blew it our direction.
Verizon cell service was 1-2 bars and very unreliable.

We stayed here in early June of 2023. The reservation site states all sites have a view of the river - not really true... the loop to the east and the center loop mostly do. The loop to the west, not really. Site 57 was long, level, had a great patio area and a nice view of the river! The CG is kind of an "open air" campground - one that has tall pines and not really any foliage between the sites. The site directly to the driver side of our trailer was a bit close, but they left and we had no one any where near us! Loads of empty sites. Nice volunteers & pleasant check in. Bathhouses were nice as the individual "rooms" each have a toilet, sink & shower - nice! Nice spot to base from to visit Shiloh National Military Park and just to chill to watch the river traffic.
