If you go up to soldiers Pass Road and pass the first big parking lot on the left where a lot of the off-road trailer park there’s a BLMM for the sign on the right that a quarter-mile past that and I turned right there and went up the hill and that’s where I’m at. It’s a very nice view of Utah Lake as well as snow capped mountains behind it.
I parked my rig with the door and awening facing the lake somewhat so I have that view as I sit here. Unfortunately it’s not a level site whatsoever. I had to use some of the local boulders to help me get the rig level. But I persevered. We got here on a Thursday and there wasn’t anyone around. Will have to see if that continues to be the case as the weekend wears on.
Get 2 to 3 bars of LTE on Verizon plenty enough to do you just about every social media that you would need if you wanted.

The main SOLDIERS PASS road is a well-maintained graded dirt road. The roads in this area are quite rocky, so there is no fear of getting stuck in the mud. However, keep your speed down on this road! A sharp rock can punch a hole in your tire!
If you use your GPS to this area, you will drive 1.7 miles from the paved highway, and find the “MAIN ENTRANCE” to the area . If you have a high-clearance vehicle, like a truck-camper, you will have no trouble getting into this area. When you get to the first cross-road, turn left, and you will find a big open area that could park 4 to 6 campers. Beyond that are many trees you can circle around, and find a fire ring.
However, the entrance to this area has a problem: The highway department has cut a deep drainage ditch along the side of the main road. If I try to enter this area, I fear that I will drag the rear end of my 24 foot camping trailer and get stuck.
Do not lose hope! Please look at my “satellite view map” picture. 1/5 of a mile BEFORE this rough entry is a similar entry on the left side, and it does not have a deep drainage dip. I pulled my camping trailer into the “lower area” and had no trouble with the entrance. The lower area also has a big open area where you could park 4 to 6 campers, and beyond that is an area where you could circle your camper around a tree.
These camp areas may be a little noisy. You are only a mile away from a popular shooting range, and you will frequently hear the sound of gunfire. This camp area is posted “NO TARGET SHOOTING”, so you should be relatively safe.
We arrived here on a Tuesday in June, and were alone. The area has Juniper trees that grow about 10 to 15 feet tall. You get some shade, but the area is hot and dusty. One advantage of this area is that we found about two bars of service for my Verizon, and one bar for my wife’s T-Mobile.
If you drive ½ mile up the main highway, you will find a small ATV playground on the left. If you go another mile, after a switch-back, on the right side, you will see a deep gully with more camping spots, and an ATV playground on the far uphill side of the gully.

It’s a cool place. There is shooting everywhere during the day. Doesn’t bother me. It was windy and sunny after a front rolled through. Trails everywhere... almost all motos that I saw but could be mtn biked or hiked.

The mosquitos were terrible. Other than that it was a good experience.

Take the road to the right of the shooting range(awd sedan didn’t have issues, at the lake mountain sign you can make a right and there are many easy access sites with a lake view, bit sandy, some spots have trash piles, most with some sort of burn spot. Past the lake mountains sign a little on the left(the marker on this app), with a no target shooting sign, there’s a decent very sandy hill, very rutted. High clearance should do fine. Looked to be more spots but probably worth to take a quick walk up and check the ground beforehand. Some normal trucks were making their way around fine. Plenty of pops in the distance but not loud. Not a bother. Verizon phone 1-2 bars 5g. car internet, I think AT&T no signal.
At the shooting range road there is another area that is most of a staging area for riding. You’d pass it as you make your way up
