It's conveniently situated right along the highway adjacent to Bear Creek. This is a free DNR campground requiring a Discovery Pass. It's a single loop of smaller sites with decent spacing and fairly level but lumpy. There are two handicapped pull through sites available to all after 6pm, one of which is the only site overlooking the creek. Two pit toilets, one older wooden, and the other newer concrete were fairly clean but long past due to be pumped out and filled with flies. About half the sites would barely accommodate my 30 ft motorhome with little or no leveling required. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit. A few sites have limited sunlight for solar charging. The creek is down a very steep embankment with trail access. There is a overlooking deck from where you can take a 45 minute trail loop through the forest and down along the creek.
The highway makes it a noisy place at times. A walk around the loop finds empty sites loaded with trash and a site loaded with human waste and TP, perhaps because the toilets are so unappealing right now. Campers walk the loop frequently and at all hours.
There is no fresh water and no dump station here.
I consider this a one night only convenience stop.
The Hungry Bear Cafe is a quick walk right next door and has decent food and small selection of good micro-brews, coffee options and homemade pies. The place is dated but cozy.

Bear Creek campground was really nice. Its a small loop campground with around 15 sites. Its located in a pretty good area to use as a base camp to explore the area. This is another camp where the Discovery Pass is required, but once again no one came by to check.
Access couldn't be easier. It is right off hwy 101. Some of the spots will not fit a RV. It was fairly quiet while we were here and there were at least 5 or 6 spots that could fit a big 35 foot RV.
The sites were pretty big, at least some of them, with picnic tables and fire rings. It is located in a dense tropical forest that is really beautiful. It is located right next to Bear Creek and the Sol Duc River. There is a really cool 2 mile loop hike starting at the back loop of the campground road. It follows the river on one side and runs thru the forest on the other. This is really worth checking out, as pretty as any of the park trails I think. The river also has fishing available with some big steelhead running while we were here.
Our cell and internet service was pretty good for being under the tree canopy. There were also 2 vault toilets that weren't to bad. No trash, no water. If you want food or internet you could walk 2 minutes to Bear Creek Café right at the entrance to the campground.
I would have gave this place 5 stars, but if you are a solar power user like us, it was hard to find much sun here. Otherwise great camp.

Great spot!
Pros:
1. Right beside a river
2. Clean
3. Very pretty
4. Two pull through handicapped access spots
5. Variety of space sizes
6. Well marked and easy to find
Cons:
1. Right by the road- occasional road noise
2. Not totally free/ requires $30 Washington Discover Pass
3. Shady- not good for us boondockers who use solar, but hey- it's the nature of the area.
For this full time boondocker, being in a campground is weird. However, this is my kind of campground. Very few people in it, pretty quiet, and good privacy between most spots.
River is very nice. It has toilets but I didn't check tht out. Very pretty campground!

Stayed here 2 nights in #8. Lovely surroundings and the sites set up offered decent privacy. The vault toilet was clean and there was TP. The camp registration board states 7 day stay limit not 10 like in the info in the description here. Very little road noise. I have stayed in numerous locations on the OP and this one is a favorite. 4G and 3 bars of Verizon made it nice also. Pretty shady if you are solar dependent. One touch I loved is the picnic tables are made of large old wood members instead of the cold concrete ones at many campsites. Trail from the park to the river is challenging and beautiful. Look between spaces 7 and 8 for the trail next to the handicap observation deck.

I agree with what others say, this is a nice place to camp. And would stay here again. But if you rely on solar power you will come up short, at least in site 2. A couple of sites get a bit more Sun, but not much. Still a nice place!

There are nine sites at the DNR campground.
It requires the WA state Discover Pass to camp here. $30.00 for the annual pass or $35.00 if bought online.
These are very large and mostly easy access sites for both tents and rvs. There are several sites that would handled a larger rv, ours is a 35' fifth wheel. Site one has the best canopy for solar gain, although while we were there it was mostly overcast.
It is a easy drive to the Hoh Rain Forest from here and the street traffic noise is barely noticeable even from the site we used which is right inside the entrance to this terrific small campground.
We would definitely stay here again.

Nice campground along the 101 in Washington State. Within 20 minutes of Forks, Washington of Twilight fame that has a nice local grocery store. We used this as a place to drop our trailer as we explored the National Park Rainforest, Riola Beach near La Push, and Cape Flattery. The location of the campground worked well for this, and the price is right :) . The campground has a nice selection of sites of different sizes, and we found one large enough for our 5th wheel. Its a wooded area with easy access from the highway, although you will get little solar gain if thats an issue. No dumpsters are on site, so its a pack out campground. This is possibly why the area had lots of trash, I was able to almost fill up a 13 gallon bag just from my site, and around the immediate area. Our only other issue was that the camp host site that was long term occupied ran their contractor generator one evening, it was loud enough that no one within 2 miles could enjoy being outside, their site was being kept in poor shape also which may explain the trash in the rest of the park. Generators are fine, just not contractor generators that you cant talk over. Noise from the highway was very low. Access to the river was limited. The restaurant next door has high ratings, and is an easy walk, you may even be able to catch their Wi-Fi.

We loved it here. The Sol Duc River is right there for a frigid swim with the kids. The sites are spacious and have a nice picnic table and fire ring. There is No Water and No Garbage. The pit/vault toilets were clean. Easy access to many day trip locations. There was not a lot of sun on the sites for solar, so we had to leave sooner than we wanted. Very forested and quaint. Be sure to take the loop trail hike starting at the West end of the camp ground. Mostly farmed trees, but lots of wildlife, fungus, and excellent views of the Sol Duc river. The discharge into the river on the South side is from a fish farm.

This is a very nice developed little campground. It never quite filled up while we were hear but was popular. Vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables. Discover Pass required which is $30 for the whole year. Restaurant within walking distance. A great place to set up and then go out and explore the Peninsula. A bit of road noise during the day but quiet at night. ADA accessible, several sites are reserved for ADA. We had quite a bit of service although sometimes it got a little finicky.

Stayed 4 nights here. in a 40 ft motorhome. I am ADA so used ADA pull thru. Free with Washington State discovery pass. Very woodsy and almost no solar. I have 3 100watt panels and only got 1 amp sometimes.
Had to run generator some to keep batteries up, which I hate to do. Almost no one else here, so did not disturb anyone. Cold snap, lows in the 20's, so had to run the heater often. Overall a quiet, secluded campground. Very clean. Saw ranger twice in 4 days.
