This is a great spot! Had electricity and a very quiet stop. Was close enough to the Plaza and sites we wanted to see by a short drive. There were 4 or 5 other campers in the large lot. All gravel, just pull in, pick a site and enjoy. No road noise, etc. when you get to the gate, you call a number and they give you the code to the gate. We will stay here again! No frills, but great stay!
When I arrived all the spots with hookups were full but they agreed to let me dry camp there for a very reduced rate. Good views of mountains from my spot. Some road noise. Not bad.
The rodeo grounds had about 8 hookup sites and not sure what they charge. There were none available so they said we could just dry camp for a nominal fee in a huge dirt lot. It worked out well for us as we were towing and all the hookups were back in. We called about 10 am same day and made the arrangements. Nice man on phone. We were gone all day til late in evening so we never saw anyone to pay, nor could we reach in phone in morning, so we just left some money in an envelope at the door to the house on site. It is behind a locked gate, they give you code. Felt very safe. Reasonably quiet.
We arrived after dark. But we couldn’t figure out how to stay here. There were plenty of “no trespassing” signs and we didn’t find an entrance or a contact number.
Santa Fe is a tough place to sleep overnight. We ended up in the HD parking lot
This is not a typical campground. It is a Rodeo ground, but there are 8 or 9 full hookup sites that we can use for $25.00. Your neighbors are horses. It’s quiet and it has good views. But cow dung is everywhere. Not too far from downtown. The manager is a super nice man. Call him and he will give you the gate code. Put your payment in an envelope and drop it into a small white box in the red house named “PRCA Office”. I’d stay here again.
Do listen to Google Maps as seems to be confused.. It takes you 75% around the fairgrounds correctly to back to the main street to enter correctly. I was puzzled for sure. Big entrance on Rodeo Drive coming the other direction.
Not on any of the mainstream rv apps. Not the Taj Mahal campground as it is Fairgrounds. Bring flystrips:) Host is excellent. I am safe being solo with a gate with code. My 60 ft could spin donuts with the room. Grounds are solid. Views are as far as your vision can see. 1 mile from Total Wine and every business possible. Horses and fairground environments so riding my Goldwing tomorrow is going to be winding mtn roads all over. Life is Good! Wifi is weak is the only negative, but buy a $45 Netgear WIFI extender!!! Works beautifully to make a weak signal STRONG.
Parking is on gravel and level. Full service. All connections are at the back of the site. You have to phone ahead to get the code for the gate. We came in on Rodeo Rd and turned at the lights at Pso de Los Pueblos Rd. No OTA tv. Good cell service. Quiet during the night. We would stay again.
The price is right, considering the other options in Santa Fe. Use Paseo de los Pueblos (not Richards Rd), the gate you need is straight ahead. You'll need to call ahead to get confirmation that a spot is available (sites are not reservable) and to get the gate code for entry... there are fhu sites on both sides of the arena (horse paddocks in between) and a large area for dry camping. Pay for your spot using an envelope you'll find in the PRCA building and drop it in the metal box on the wall (cash or checks, not sure about credit cards).
Water and electric are at the back of the spots and in between. The rodeo grounds bathrooms were open while we were there, but I don't know if there were showers. Lots of goatheads and if it rains, no shortage of slippery adobe mud between the gate and the spots, but overall, a good less expensive option for exploring Santa Fe and surrounding area.
A great stop over if traveling through Santa Fe. It’s just a rodeo grounds parking lot BUT it’s gated, has full hookups for $25 a night, is quiet and right near town. We called ahead, were given a gate code and dropped $25 cash into the box in the shed (I.e. office) which also has an ATM. The parking lot was level. The people were nice. Your neighbors are horses. Checked all our boxes for a great over-night stop.
Hook ups are poorly laid out and some were not operational. Ok place to stay but would only stay here again as a last resort.
