Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 16, 2023I will be upfront in saying that there are areas that are used as a dump for things like simple trash to folks dropping off furniture and electronics.
But all that being said; if you drive around the area a little, decent spots can be found. That are clean with great views.
This BLM land is immediately West of the Santa Fe National Forest, West.
The area tends to be used for off roading/ATV's, but the traffic is low and we were unbothered.
This is open and dispersed camping that has absolutely no amenities.
Boondockers only I would recommend.
Though vault toilets are open and available in the National Forrest just down the way.
Area is less than 20 minutes from Santa Fe Proper.
Bring leveling blocks as this is a typical angular upper desert area.
There are a number of areas to find as this BLM Land extends from county road 62/FR 24 in the south, all the way to the Diablo Canyou area to the north.

We originally were going to stay down the road at another spot but there were so many people and we had a crazy neighbor so we drove up here and found a spot. The road is a little rough on the turn in unless you stay to the left of the sign but we were able to find a spot with no one around. It was very peaceful and quiet. [Might be different on a weekend. It is an OHV area] Beautiful view of the sunset and mountain behind us. Keep an eye out as your driving or you will miss it. On your right there is a fenced area before it as you drive on the main hard dirt packed road then a small turn in with a wooden sign or you could go down a bit further to the power line entrance. About 20 min to downtown Santa Fe which was great to be that close.
