“New Mexican Inspired Food”
Green Chile Kitchen serves New Mexican inspired food focusing on the distinctive flavors and traditions of this unique region. We are dedicated to creating delicious and affordable dishes that are made from scratch. Chile is the defining ingredient of this regional cuisine. Red and green chile is native to New Mexico, and is harvested each fall at different times of ripeness. Green chile, which is picked earlier than red, is considered a super food by some, containing more vitamin c than citrus fruit, and creating a "high" similar to the endorphins produced when exercising. We use Bueno chile in all our dishes, which has been owned and operated by the Baca family since 1951. Green Chile Kitchen opened in 2006. After the restaurant moved to its current location, owner Trevor Logan opened Chile Pies (& Ice Cream) in the original space. In 2011 he added Chile Pies (Sweet & Savory) to the family. The food in all locations is inspired by Logan's many years spent in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Went here on my 22nd birthday and it hit the spot. The food is superb for quality mexican that doesn't seem "cheap". You order when you walk in and then grab a table so it's very casual in that sense. My personal favorite was the burrito as it's filled with all sorts of good fresh ingredients. They also as you could guess from the name have great salsas to put inside, on top of, or just eat with chips on the side. Reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, relatively easy to grab a table, and friendly staff.
