A Native of Rome, Lorenzo began working in his families’ trattoria at a young age. Enamored with cooking yet determined to forge his own path he would later leave Italy for the United States, working as a sous chef for the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta before opening his own restaurant. He would later relocate again, this time to San Francisco to open the small and intimate Allegro Romano in Russian Hill. Ala Romana is his second restaurant in San Francisco.
