San Diego Zombie Walk

The first walk, was on June 30, 2007, in Balboa Park and was a total undead success, with over 120 zombies shuffling their way down El Prado. The second walk took place at Comic-Con, in 2007, where the zombie horde infiltrated thousands of the living and had sightings of George Romero, Brian Posehn, and many others along the route. The walk also made the San Diego Union-Tribune front page! Since then, ZW:SD has held several walks throughout America’s Finest City; many benefiting the San Diego Food Bank, Toys for Tots, and local military families.  The walk has participated in Thrill The World, played zombie kickball, been featured on San Diego Living & Fox 5 Morning News, entertained Ocean Beach with undead caroling for the holidays, helped promote Zombieland (which made the front page of CNN.com), appeared in a music video for Rat City Riot, partied at the House of Blues, and in 2009 held our third walk at Comic-Con (a tradition we don’t intend to break – especially since the walk is considered one of the “ten essential Comic-Con must-sees” for 2009, according to the LA Times) and helped take over Hollywood for a night. The walk has even helped with a marriage proposal! Whether they have a dozen zombies or over 2000, thus walk is always a blast! The zombie walk include zombies of all ages and backgrounds, as they encourage participation from anyone who is interested in letting go of reality for a couple hours and having a great time. Our walks have a set of guidelines, intended to keep events not only fun, but as safe & pleasant as possible for both participants and the public. The walk is always met with smiles & laughter and intrigued passerby who are curious about the walk and how they can join in the horde.
