“a unique landscape with a rich history”
The award-winning Master Plan by Stephen Stimson Associates and D.I.R.T. Studio was designed to showcase this natural area, surrounded by urban development. Phil Hardberger Park is truly a unique landscape with a rich history. We invite our visitors to explore the land where three eco-regions of Texas converge, learn from the conservation methods our park naturalists employ and enjoy the best place in San Antonio to see and feel the wild!
If you are looking for a great weekend escape close to the center of San Antonio, then Phil Hardberger Park sounds like a ideal place.
The park is relatively new and very well maintained with many state of the art trails that are ideal for running, cycling, walking. Ideal place to take your kids with for a walk in a beautiful park.
There is also a separate area dedicated for dogs. Overall, a very nice city park where you can have loads of fun. Just be aware, that because it is a very popular weekend spot, it gets crowdy fast. On the other hand, due to its size, you won't feel lack of space. People are friendly and very helpful. One of the best things is that there is security staff within the park's premises and you can feel safe all the times.
No wonder why San Antonio is such a great city to visit!
Enjoyable walking trails which loop and interconnect in shady woods. Very dog friendly, with doggie bags available at top of trails. Parking is at a premium so be aware of that fact. Nice "small dog" park adjacent to "large dog" park, too. Unfortunately design flawed a bit as walking trails, paved, really are not comfortably wide enough for walkers and bicyclists, but we figure it out respectfully. Park is big lifestyle gem for Northsiders! We at least once a week.
There are a lot of different trails here ranging from the easy ones up to the most difficult, and the fun part here is that the trails are interconnected with each other. Also, there are different parks here for animals.
