“Animals on display from every continent”

The Buckhorn Museum features wildlife from all over the world; including fish from the seven seas, animals from every continent and strange animal oddities which have been collected for over 100 years! Our exhibit halls are comprised of over 520 species of wildlife—many of which are record holders.  The Buckhorn’s most prized record holder is the famous ‘78 Point Buck’.  This impressive rack was sold to the saloon owner himself, Albert Friedrich, for a mere $100 dollars back in 1890.  Other amazing specimens include a record 1,056 pound black marlin and a 10,000 year old pre-historic Irish elk.

This is a fun place to have lunch. There is a restaurant downstairs from the museum. Lots of conversation pieces. definitely worth checking out while you are in town.

Fun stop for a family with kids, even if you're not eating.

Fun quirky place for lunch when in Dan Antonio. Walk up counter to order your food, they’ll bring it out to your table when ready. Food was great!!! Didn’t walk around the museum.

Great museum. Did not eat there but the tour (self-guided) was awesome. Do it. Don’t skip.

This is a decent place if you have time to kill. We got there after 3 so the restaurant was closed but the bar was still opened. My husband enjoyed the Adult Rootbeer but the virgin daiquiri I got had huge chunks of ice still in it. Other than that it tasted good. The lady at the ticket area and the lady in the gift shop were both extremely sweet and helpful. As for the museum, it was really interesting but I did find myself wishing there were more interactive things to do. Seems to need updated in some areas but seeing all the animals was really cool.
