“Kampgrounds of America”

Welcome to our KOA, a green oasis only 3/4 mile off I-40, with long, level, shaded Pull-Thru RV Sites, Deluxe and Camping Cabins, a tiny house, and grassy Tent Sites. You'll find fantastic, free Wi-Fi that is strong enough to stream on, great satellite reception (make sure you request a satellite-friendly spot), and many digital air channels with your antenna. Due to the poor quality that is available, we do not offer city cable. Enjoy the pool, jump pad, WaterWars, walking trails, fishing pond, playground, gaga ball pit, box hockey, washer toss, volleyball, and KampK9. The rec room has a kitchen, board games, books, movies, and puzzles. Make this KOA your base camp while you discover all the area has to offer, including restaurants, antique stores, Native American history, casinos, farmers' markets, train rides, all while just 25 miles from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Explore the beautiful Ouachita or Boston mountains, Robert S. Kerr Reservoir, or Lake Tenkiller, where hiking, biking, boating, scuba diving, and fishing are plentiful. We also fill propane tanks mounted on RVs or portables from 20#-100#! Pool: May 20 - October 1. Max pull thru: 90 feet. Your hosts: the Maust family.

This is a travelers KOA. Our traveling practice is to stay two days when we stop. So, we have watched this campground fill and then empty. It is a very nice KOA, just not a destination. This is not a huge park, I would call for availability.
Check-in was easy and friendly with the owners in a really well stocked camp store. There were souvenirs, as well as lots of basic RV supplies. The grocery selection was the basics, but still fresh and attractive. I was able to buy milk which is always my litmus test of a good camp store.
The sites were very neat and clean with well placed utilities. There was a picnic table and shade at the sites, neighbors were close but not imposing.
Cable was 65 clear channels with no hassle. Wi-Fi bogged down sometimes but over all was good.
The roads and sites are gravel, but all around is lush grass. The trees and lawns are verdant and surround the children's playground and a clean and well maintained pool. There are lots of benches, tables and chairs in the green space. There is even a small catch 'n release pond just for kid's fun.
A "Nature Trail" has been cut into a bordering woods that offered extensive walks because it was cut as a labyrinth with paths going in every direction. "Weren't we just here?"
The laundry looked very nice, clean and well equipped.
The real "knockout" were the bathrooms. They are outstanding, or maybe that is astounding. They look brand new and are done in stone tiles and marble, with designer fixtures. The lighting, mirrors, and basin shine. It goes without saying that bathroom and showers were also meticulously clean. These are really pleasant and comfortable bathrooms.
We are headed West and doubled back twenty miles for this campground.
It was a worthwhile detour. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

This is our second time driving across country with our camper and both times we stopped at this KOA. We loved it the first time because the bathrooms were so nice. It was raining so we couldn’t do much else. This time we made it a point to get here early to have time to play. They have a decent size swimming pool with a large shade canopy over half the pool which was amazing since it was very hot out and we have little ones. The added a jumping pillow since we were last here and the kids loved it. There is also a small playground, kayaks for rent, and bikes for rent. The people that work there are very friendly! Sites are well maintained. It is a gravel site with grass in between and the tent spots have sand. They also have food options and a small convenience store. This is my favorite KOA and I will always stop here on my way to California.

Husband and I took a spontaneous 1000 mile vacation with just our hammocks. Found a site with the perfect trees. Staff was very nice on the phone, and the women's bathroom was beautiful! Pretty cool little spot.

We stayed here in July 2016. It was our first time staying at a KOA, and we immediately adjusted our item art for the rest of the road trip to stay at as many KOAs that were on our route! We had reserved a tent site, but after an abnormally heavy rain during the week, the site we had reserved was pretty wet, but still dry enough to camp. The owners offered us a cabin at a discounted rate that had just opened up because the person who had reserved it decided to leave early. It was such a wonderful experience for us and our preschool aged sons! The bathrooms were pristine and looked recently renovated. The pool was fun for all of us, and the boys played on the playground before we checked out since it had started to dry up after the heavy rains. We didn’t use the laundry room, since this stop was early in our trip, but I did check it out. At the time, there was even a treadmill in there in case you wanted to exercise while you did laundry.

The sweetest owners. I was super impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom and site. We stopped here for our first night on our 15 day Amazing Race Family trip out West. The owners had a candy scavenger hunt for the kids and a late night movie. There was a reunion going on but there was still plenty of activities for all. We played gaga ball, took kayaks out into the pond, played basketball and swam. This KOA also observed the 10 o'clock quiet hour which I really appreciated. We used the back corner lot and had plenty of room to spread out.
