If you don't need a bathroom or electricity your ok here. However our campsite was not supplied with 110v outlets and the bathroom showers did not turn on, in fact they smelled of raw sewage. We arrived on Saturday evening and by the time I set up camp and found no working electric hook up, the office was closed at 7pm and Sunday hours were 1pm open. So needless to say with no listing of camp phone number on paper work supplied by them we packed up in the morning to leave. upon leaving I was able to get a week cell phone signal so i called and complained about the conditions and was hung up on.

1. 1 mile into Salida which is a great little town to visit.
2. Level sites. Water view sites are nice. The sites not located on the Arkansas River are a bit wider.
3. Clean restroom & laundry room.
4. Salida's waste water treatment plant cast a slight odor when the wind was from that direction but certainly wasn't a reason to not camp there.
5. Wonderful night time temperatures.

I wish I had more positive things to say about this park, but the truth is, it put a real damper on our summer vacation. The park itself is nice enough, but it’s far from family-friendly and camper-friendly.

If you want a campfire, like most campers, you’ll have to either pay for a premium site (good luck finding availability, since there are only a few) to get a fire pit, or they’ll try to nickel-and-dime you to the tune of $12/day to rent a little flimsy portable one. Since we meal-plan to grill most of our meals, this really screwed us. It’s not really clear on the website, so we were definitely caught off-guard. Fair enough, I guess you could say that’s our fault. In the office, they’ll tell you it’s an easy fix since they have a fire pit at the “common area.” Yeah, that one little 12x12 concrete pad that’s supposed to serve 70 groups.

If hammocks are also part of your outdoor “camping” experience, you’re screwed, unless you carry around those big stand-along hammock stands. Apparently, tying hammocks to their 80-year-old trees is a liability concern (like I’m going to tie up something unsafe for my kids) and you can’t tie them to their fenceposts either because they’re all falling over. Somehow, that’s the campers problem, not the managers of the facility who have clearly neglected the upkeep of the fencing.

Now, if you have kids with you, get ready for the dirty looks from all the grumps. They might as well go ahead and convert this place over to a 55 & over park because those are the only people who are made to feel welcomed. That “rec room” might as well be called “the puzzle room” at a retirement village. That’s all that happens in there. The pool table was covered up with all kinds of junk, so unusable, and we were told the shuffleboard is off limits too. And, of course, there’s no playground or even the slightest green space where the kids can be kids. Again, the message sent at every step is that families and campers aren’t welcomed.

And whatever you do, don’t run out of ice and expect to go buy more at the front office. The sign says they’re open until 6pm, but I showed up at around 5 on 2 occasions and it was lights out. Had I known the “office hours” posted on the door were just an estimate, I could’ve stopped in town and picked up ice.

Lastly, they shut off the water to the entire park one morning with no notice to anyone. Guess how many people couldn’t fix their breakfast or take their showers.

Needless to say, we won’t be back. It’s a shame because, as I said, it’s a nice RV park. It’s just not a fit if you have kids, enjoy the outdoors, and are younger than 80.

Nice park. Slow wi-fi. Check in was friendly and easy. Laundry room is small. Close to Salida. Big trees.

Very nice and some sites back up to the river.....for a price. Other sites are 5 to 10 less. Have stayed there previously but honestly will look at others for a better value next time. A bit pricey for no cable and weak wifi. You are paying for river view and access limited to a few sites. It is quiet and convenient to Salida and area and there were some people fishing from the campground.

This was really solid relative the other options near Salida. Super quick ride into town in a clean park with sites right on the Arkansas River.

The laundry room was clean and the park was quiet beyond occasional road noise.

Pretty park on the Arkansas River. Price is reasonable and we even got a 10% discount since we had a party of five rigs. Trees, laundry, decent cell signal. But the rules!

The rules read like some kind of passive aggressive manifesto. They were full of little jokes...between all the threats and fines. Park your toad or tow vehicle wrong, they threatened to have it towed without notice. Let your dog walk on the "grass" or put a propane fire on the grass or any number of other infractions, $10 to $50 fines. Pay with cash so they can't charge your card to pay fines without you knowing .

And we were the only one in our party to get a lovely site 100 feet from the highway despite being the first to reserve. The lower sites were larger and supposedly reserved for big rigs (we're 32 feet plus toad) but our site could have fit a 45 footer and half the rigs down by the river and away from the highway were shorter than us. On top of that, the driveways off the highway are really steep with a sharp break-over angle and the water pressure was some of the worst we've had. And all the beautiful sites along the river were all reserved a year ago so forget that idea.

Fine for a night or two but there's probably better options with more easy going owners.

My wife and I were shocked at the unprofessional check-in, interior roads needing gravel, dangerous stairs to get to the toilets, dirty, smelly restrooms, loud music from the park's cheap entertainment, warning signs everywhere, and threats of water restrictions. The most relaxing and uplifting part of our vacation was pulling out of the Four Seasons RV Park in Salida, CO

Due to COVID19 restrictions, many of their facilities were closed. However, self check in was easy and appreciated. Someone was always available by phone. Our first night we spent in C5 near the highway. $46/night. Not a great site, but a big pull through was fine for 1 night. We asked to be moved the second night as the noise from the Class A next to us all night was awful - a heater of some kind kept firing up and down all night long. It was loud and obnoxious. Site R15 was much better but did come with a higher price tag $66/night - right next to the river and a large back in site. Laundry facilities available. Wifi was abysmal, but we bring our own hot spot anyway. Did not come into contact with any staff or ownership, so I can't speak of previous reviewers being upset with poor customer service. We would stay here again.

Smaller, private RV park on the river. Lots of rafters. Well managed, patrolled. Everybody seems to follow the rules. Dogs are leashed. Owners sing on the weekends, provide entertainment. 30 amp only. A few class A, mostly trailers. Arrival was easy. Showed us to our spot.
