“multiple disperse camping sites”
The campground is pack it in, pack it out and comprised of a single large loop, surrounded by a grass meadow in a Ponderosa Pine grove. The sites are large and well spaced with sites #16, 17 and 18 on a dead-end spur with no turn around. The open areas are dotted with wildflowers. It is convenient to State Hwy 114 for an overnight stay.

USForest Service. No cell. Pit toilets (clean). No water, no trash removal. Pulled in after 7:00pm on a Saturday evening. Plenty of sites. Wide spaces. Only negative is high elevation.

This was a delightful little first come/first serve campground for $5. Only 19 campsites. Some for tents and some that were suited for larger rigs...Some pull through available. However, sites can be quite unlevel and tight to maneuver. Very clean pit toilets, no trash, no water, no dump. Super quiet but zero connectivity. You have to drive several miles for a week signal. Durango is over an hour away but the town of Saguache was about 40 min for any supplies or cell service.
We stayed here while segment hiking the Colorado Trail.

Only passing through, so didn't stay. Wanted to. It is so quiet and peaceful here. I visited site 13 for a bit. Campground is in rolling forest, so some spots are high and some low. Campground is well suited to vans, small RVs and tent camping. A few sites will accommodate a little larger rig. Sites have a wooden table and a parking pad. Some are level, some not so much so. The campground is up over 9,000 ft, so it might be an problem for someone with cardiac issues. There are vault toilets. Spotless when I was there. I had 2 bars on T-Mobile. Though I do have a cell booster (WeBoost) that gave me 3-5 bars. Still a bit slow on data. Please keep in mind that data (up/downloading or streaming) is another issue. Note: this site is on a hill. It's a peaceful, lovely spot in the high mountains. Would stay on another trip through here.
