“rest up with nature!”
You can never go home, but there’s nothing that says you can’t take it with you. RV’s are an obsession for many Americans as a way to see their own country. The vehicles come in a variety of models, from customs vans to hugs Class A land yachts. Banks, at least, view them as second homes, and offer long-term interest rates. But it’s a far cry from camping when you have VCR’s, air conditioning, and real carpeting, diehard RVers will point out.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 01, 2023Let me start by saying we stopped here during February 2018. It was the only one open for the cold season in the area. The office employee was extremely nice and even stayed late to meet us. The campground seemed to be clean and kept up with, the best we could see with all the snow. The only reason I’m not giving this a five star review, is because of the bathrooms. The showers require quarters! I’m all about conserving water, my Only complaint is I wish we would of known before getting in the showers at night before the office closed. Luckily the attendant had forgotten something and had to return to the office, so we were able to get change for a dollarr. The showers also could of used a bit of attention. Otherwise, we will stay here again, and next time we will bring quarters.

We stopped at the Wind River RV Park passing through the area from Yellowstone to South Dakota. We called them as we pulled into two because it was the first time we could get enough cell reception. The gentleman who answered the phone was very polite even providing guidance on how to navigate construction in the area. Good thing he did; otherwise, we wouldn't have made some of the corners. He was just as polite in person as on the phone.
Central Wyoming doesn't have a lot of grass due to the climate, so not having grass and shade wasn't really a disappointment. The sites are doubles with plenty of length and full hookups. There's onsite bathrooms, showers, and laundry. Be aware they charge for showers (something we aren't accustom to). The park is in town so there's access to a lot things such as Walmart, Family Dollar, a nice city park, and several restaurants.
I wouldn't consider Riverton, Wyoming a prime vacation destination but the town and Wind River RV Park are a nice place to stay when traveling through the state.
We camped here in a 30 ft travel trailer. I would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone.

Only an overnight stay here in mid-June 2021 on the way to Cody an Yellowstone. Very clean, neat campground. Sites were gravel and plenty big and long for big rigs. Bathrooms were very clean. Showers were individual rooms with locking doors. Showers were pay - $0.75 for 7.5 minutes was plenty of time. Very nice laundry facility and equipment.

Backed into spot 6 plugged In our Arctic Fox 5th 34'. Went inside paid at the hotel dropped 20 and walked out with 180. What an evening. Would do it again, good night sleep with no one bothering us. Do it if your in the neighborhood. Try the Roasted Bean in Riverton for a great meal.

Nice campground with good amenities. Most of the sites are pull through. We had no problems parking our 30’ Class A with towed car. They have 20, 30 and 50AMP hookups at all the sites along with water and sewer. Their bathroom, shower, and laundry facility is one of the best you will find anywhere. The staff were very nice to deal with. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to this area.

The desk guy was nice, from there it was all down hill. What I was looking forward to most at the end of this day was a shower. The facilities were ok, but what really chaps my hide is a quarter operated shower in the name of “conservation”… it took a shit ton of time for the water to heat up, and then was a nightmare to adjust. Water pressure was a trickle as well.
And conservation?? There were four sinks in the bathroom that anyone can simply leave on and walk out. So their conservation efforts could use some review.
As far as the stay? No one seemed to leave anything outside their units so that felt strange. Some dummy was running a generator all night in an RV park?!? Spaces are ample, but gravel. Each spot has a picnic table and a bar b que. Overall? I’ve stayed in much nicer parks for a lot less! I’d pass this one buy if I ever came through here again.

It’s okay for the price. Our site had a great deal of ponding for most of our long stay. It was difficult to step out of our rig without stepping in one of many deep muddy puddles. The weeds in the sites weren’t mowed while we were there. It’s kinda junky. If you’re just looking for a stopover on the way to the Tetons or Yellowstone, we felt safe and it’s close to Walmart and a Smith’s grocery store. Lander is much nicer, but it doesn’t have the retail like Riverton.

We got a blow out on our travel trailer in Yellowstone and decided to head home early. An hour out we got another blow out on hwy 26. I had to unhitch drive to town, buy a tire, come back and change it before heading out again. Needless to say we needed a place to stop for the night. They took us right in as a late check. Sweet people. Ended up staying two nights we were so comfortable. Owner saw us hitching up to go and walked over to say bye. Very nice people. Didn't use showers/bathrooms on site. Awesome park in town!

This is a well maintained park. Joe the owner is nice. I stayed here for a week a month ago. I have family in this town nothing much else around here. There’s no patrol or security that I have seen. Right now 9pm there’s a kid on a ATV just tooling around. So if you’re the kind that lets your kids run around and scream and yell this is the place for you. And hit rocks with a baseball bat that was yesterday’s fun. I would come back only because of location to family.
