Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 16, 2022We stayed at Jim Moss Arena & RV Park for one night. It was deliciously silent there and the scenery was just breathtaking. Paulette was very welcoming, and Grizzly, their Doodle, acted as Welcome Wagon. We wandered up the road to Midland Bar & Grill for dinner and were content to sit in the screened room to watch the sunset in blissful silence. I would highly recommend Jim Moss Arena to anyone passing through Riverton, WY and hope to take in the serenity there again some day.

Stay two nights at Jim Moss Arena and Campground and it was a great experience. The campground had electric hookup and water available. Bathroom and shower was very clean and camping in the range of Wyoming was a great experience. Jim and Paulette, the owners, were very friendly and accommodating.
We had plenty of space, privacy and freedom of movement. Be advised, this is Wyoming range land and it is hot in August and there were mosquitoes. The campground is close to Riverton, WY, which does have a Walmart and there are many places to dine and visit.

I drove in and met Paulette right away, she and Jim are wonderful hosts, always around and happy to help. The first night I paid $25 and only $15 each night after that. The grounds are so vast and the sunsets were outstanding.
You can park pretty much anywhere, the first night it was so windy I parked between the horse barn and a structured storage building, After the wind calmed down I moved to the central area where 5 RVs can park parallel for electric and a shared water spigot. There are a string of electric only sites behind the house/cabin. While I was near the horses I needed block to get level, once in the central area the ground was mostly level.
There are only 2 dump stations, none at the sites, but it was no issue using it before I left. I was told there was a single shower on the property, for visitors, but I never needed or saw it. Paulette offered me the use of her wifi and it helped me stay online during my visit.
I really enjoyed the evening I spent with Paulette and Jim and another traveler staying the night. We sat outside and chatted over a bottle of wine, enjoying the evening.
While this location is about 12 miles to the nearest store it was worth it for the serenity and relaxation.

This place was great and the hosts were so kind and responsive to our questions. My only issue was that we paid for a water and electric hookup, but the water was only a little more than a trickle coming out of the spigot. This was fine for us as we already had our tank full, but it took forever when time came to fill up. We also had a water issue when dumping, as there was a water spigot there near the dump station but someone was using the only spigot as a full hookup, so no water was available for tank flushing. We ended up walking back and forth to our site with the low pressure spigot for a couple of 5 gallon buckets to flush the tanks.
Overall this was a great stay and we would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful. Friendly hosts. Wide open space. They have four unique Air BnB’s. A horse trailer, a bunkhouse, a grain silo. Wanted to stay longer and do more. It rained a lot of the time we were there. Would absolutely go back. PS we had full hookups including water.

Lovely place, Paulette is very friendly and kind. There’s a couple horses and a donkey here who are very friendly and love scratches. The bathrooms are clean. The shower room could use some hooks for towels and clothes, and maybe a fan for ventilation but it was a warm clean shower. WiFi isn’t very strong so when there’s multiple people using it, it can start to not work.

Not a classic campground, but that’s just fine with us. We were greeted by the owners as we arrived and they were able to help us avert disaster with an electrical issue in our camper right after we arrived. There is a large area around the camping section that is full of wildlife and there are views of mountains in just about all directions. The night skies are relatively dark so it made for some great Astro-photography opportunities. We walked the “back 40” and spotted prairie dogs and lots of grassland birds.

When I arrived the hostess waved me to where she was standing. This brought me through a few inches deep of soft mud. I barely made it with 4 wheel drive as the tires had half an inch of mud on the treads and so had no grip. She then pointed me to go past the basketball hoop. I almost did not make it. She could have pointed me to better ground as there was lots of open space.

We stopped here for one night heading East. Called Paulette late and she was very accommodating! The hot water in shower was a life saver. We would definitely stay again if traveling this way again.

We stopped over for one night which was unfortunately during a week of heavy rain. The campground and long road leading up to it is mostly dirt which meant it was a muddy mess for our truck and fifth wheel. Mosquitos were relentless, both in the evening when we arrived and in the morning when we were getting out of there. Total cost for stay was $51.51, which included water, electric and dump fee.
I'm sure this place is nice to stay when the weather is nice, but if it's not just be aware of the mud!
