Relatively clean, some trash and shotgun shells. Nice views. Nearby shooting and can hear highway, so not super quiet. Can ride from camp to the trails.

I scouted this road with my tow car today, to see if I wanted to bring the 38 foot diesel pusher out there. I could have made the road easier in the RV than I did in the car (Pontiac Sunfire). The road is very well signed going through the Zia Pueblo land to get the the BLM land. Unfortunately I had had enough rattling to my kidneys and car after 3.1 miles of the 6 miles to go to the site. And this was 3.1 miles each way at 10-15 miles per hour. If you aren't avoiding crevasses from rain washouts you are listening to your car suspension on the verge of break a tie rod on washboard surface. There are at least 3 low water areas, one VERY sandy that would be impassable in rain and some parts of the road have been baked to a hard clay that liquifies to a greasy mess when the rainy season hits. The prospect of something breaking from the beatdown the road was doing to my car, and, being in/out of cell signal finally impressed on me ' DON'T DO IT', so I turned around and crossed this OFF my boondock list until I get a truck or 4 wheel drive high clearance rig.

The road here is about ( miles off US-550 and requires a long drive through Pueblo owned land. The road is (barely) maintained with several low water crossings that are impassable when it rains. The area is mostly used for target shooting and there is absolutely nothing around here except deer flies. I would definitely not recommend camping here. Go north on N.M. 4 to the forest and camp there.

If you ride, it's worth to stay here. The roads are rough due to the washboard effect, but it isn't far to find access to the trails (there are two parking lots, drive to the second one for proper riding access.) About < 5 min to the trailhead. I do get cell reception on and off, enough to send out texts.

As for camping, people seem to drive down the road and pull over to any area they like. Wide open spaces everywhere. I will say the sound of folks practicing gun shots in the distance does get annoying, but dissipates later in the day. If you're looking for a nice ride or hike during the spring season when other states are stills snowed in, White Ridge is a really great option. Whilst not a huge fan of the washerboards against the suspension of my low clearance subaru, I would definitely come here to ride and camp again when other areas are still snowed in.

Nice open area, long dirt road leading to the BLM land. Cows sometimes graze in the area. We did hear some shooting, though it didnt last long. We had Verizon and TMobile 5G reception where we parked, though it can be spotty going from 5G to nothing in some spots.

The wildfires closed many parks in the Jemez area, and we came here to camp. So so so glad we did. Lots of spots to camp, you don't need to camp in the parking lot as listed. Bring water. Roads are ok but washboards most of the way. Not super ideal for small cars but you could definitely make it. Lots of space for hiking & mtn biking.

Honestly so happy we came here. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night and tried another spot. 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

The first few miles of the road across reservation land are alright, with a couple areas that require more care. After getting into BLM land, the road gets muddy and gets worse the further back you go. There was a road off to the right past the bike trails parking lot that was impassable due to mud.

We found a "campsite" a few miles after the BLM entry parking lot. There was no evidence of previously used campsites along the main road. Our "campsite" was just a dirt area alongside the road. We saw a few others like it. There were shotgun shells and glass everywhere so we had to be careful walking.

If you're staying in the area, consider staying at Vista Linda Campground or any of the others along route 4. We spent one night at this campsite and left for Vista Linda in the morning.
