The cell service was poor. We followed our GPS and it got us to the wrong side of the reservoir but it was not too far to get to the campground from where we ended up and you could at least see it.
We arrived on a Saturday in September and ended up on Sage loop (electric only 50/30/20). We made the reservation ahead of time (only a few days). There are other loops and one at least is full hook up. Plus there is water and a dumpstation. All sites in our loop were taken and it was a bit noisy, but after dark it got very quiet. On Sunday night we were alone in the loop!!! The campground was very clean, the sites are not too close, the coin operated showers (5 min = 4 quartes) were well tsken care off. The lake is very low, but there is a boat ramp and a swimming beach. Further up the road is Rifle Falls State Park. The park pass ($7 per day/per vehicle on top of the camping fee) is good for that park too. The triple 90' waterfall is stunning. There is absolutly NO cell coverage around the camping sites!!!

We stayed at Rifle Gap Oct. 7 -11 which is off season so it wasn't very crowded at all.
The sites were all very big and spaced out nicely. We were in site 19 which had full hook ups and a view of the sadly low reservoir. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and beauty of the fall season. The little visitors center was nice, had some local info and the people were very nice and friendly.
The Verizon cell service was poor (1 bar 3G) so we had to drive the short distance to the dam where we could get a signal when needed.
The showers and restrooms were clean and well maintained.
We visited the Rifle Falls area which was worth a trip over to see. We fished but didn't catch anything.
Rifle had a couple nice restaurants we tried and my hubby golfed at the local course which is minutes away from the campground.
We will happily stay here again if in the area.

We had an excellent view from our full hookup site #14. Rate does not include the purchase of a CO State Parks annual pass. That or a daily entrance pass is required in addition to the camping rate. We purchased the annual pass in January since we are planning to camp at several CO state parks this year. The lady working at the gate gave my husband a hard time when he drove in to the park a couple of times. She couldn't read the annual pass that was attached to our windshield and practically accused him of not having a valid pass. He had to find the paperwork and prove to her that we really purchased it. Not very pleasant being treated like a liar or cheat when entering the park. Anyway, other than that, the rest of the staff were very nice and friendly. The park is beautiful with well spaced out sites. We travel full time and work remotely, so we rely on cell coverage. Verizon and AT&T data did not work at all, but T-Mobile worked surprisingly well. Verizon voice worked only if we used the phone near our booster. This was a great place to stay to visit Rifle Falls and Glenwood Springs.

This is our second time at this park. The sites in the lakeview campground are nicely maintained and spacious. We had full hookups. Site 24 is right next to the shower building with bright yellow lights at night. Noise was not an issue. We have AT&T and had no service anywhere in the park. We drove to Rifle to get connected. The park is nice for walking.

Spent two nights in the Lakeview Campground. Gorgeous views of the reservoir and surrounding hogback/mountains. Showers were not open due to COVID-19 restrictions; however, the toilets were open.
Sites were level, clean, and fairly large. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and shade shelter. It was a peaceful and quiet location. Reservoir was small but very clean and not a lot of boat traffic, which was nice.
Took the drive up to Rifle Falls State Park and beyond as well. Rifle Gap is a cool place to escape to for a few days. Park Staff was friendly.

We've stayed down near the lake before, but decided we wanted a full service site this time. We were in site 53, which is way up at the top and has incredible privacy. No one behind, with only the mountains to enjoy, and no one beside us, with a gorgeous view. The spots up here are paved and level. The host even comes and rakes the sand in the tent spots (which each site has) between visitors. The site is close to the road, but with lots of space behind and beside it.
The only criticism we could possibly have is that the water pressure way up on top is a little low.
This was one of our favorite campsites ever.
No cell service, though.

We had a beautiful stay just a tad windy. Recommend to anyone. Pulled a 20 ft trailer in with no problems. We saw a few huge RVs as well. Water is beautiful and lots of swimming access.

This is one of the top two or three state parks we have ever stayed in! Large, paved, level sites with covered picnic tables and a huge patio area with gravel (which the camp hosts meticulously clean and rake after every guest). We did not use the bath houses, but everything appears new and clean. Our only complaints were that there was no laundry facilities and they charge an additional $9/day for your toad (yikes!) unless you have a park pass. There was little to no Verizon/AT&T cell service. My booster made the AT&T hotspot usable for internet browsing, but not for streaming.
We were in the Lakeview section which is FHU. The sites are well spaced and tiered so you get great views and a fair amount of privacy.

The lake is beautiful and the place is well maintained. But, it’s mostly a parking lot. Not many trees or shade unless you’re under the awning. I felt like I was on top of everyone. In fairness, I usually boondock so I’m not used to these types of campsites. It’s probably good if you’re used to campgrounds with hookups and big RVs and amenities.
