Google will route you from HWY 20 to the back of town via a nice gravel road, but it will bring you to the ball diamond field area, not the RV Park section which is to the NE of the ball diamonds accessed from the downtown area at Park St and Nebraska St intersections. Set your Garmen GPS for those street intersections. There are 6 sites with concrete pads with 20/30/50 amp service and at least four frost-protected water hydrants that can be shared between all of the 6 sites. The RV Park also contains an RV Dump Station to the left side of the entrance between unnumbered sites 2 & 3. There is a small gravel turn-around at the end of the driveway area. Sites can accommodate rigs 35' in length if you disconnect from your coach, but we fit just nicely with our 23' Lance travel trailer and F-150 with our rear tires still on concrete and front of truck about 2 feet off the RV Park driveway. The Sign at the center of the RV Park welcomes you and tells you to pay by donation at the city hall office two blocks north. This short walk is very easy to do and any reasonable amount is accepted, we gave them $20 for a quiet two night stay. After donating to the city hall office for your stay, you are just a few steps away from the Frozen Cow ice cream stand that is very popular with the city residents. Folks here are very friendly and there were no Covid-19 restrictions posted that could limit our stay like some other regeonal city parks. There is some noise here from a local farm, a railroad about 3/4 miles to the north, city park activities, and downtown activities of a very small city, but none of it is objectionable. There are two other very small RV Parks set up for contractors, one of them butts up to the city park, but they are very quiet and not of objectionable scenery.
Called city on October 6 2022. Was informed that location no longer exists
Veterans park is in a very quaint, quiet town among trees and on a cement slab with picnic tables and fire pits. It has free electric hookups for all sizes of RVs with water hookups in most spots and dump site. Main center of town is only a block away. Donations accepted at City Town Hall, small but variety of needs fulfilled in local grocery store, big beautiful church and new library on brick laid roads! Great stay!
6 concrete pads in good condition. Nice shade trees throughout area. Electrical and water. Dump station under light pole. We stayed one night passing through after a trip out west. Only one other site was occupied by a family.
Thank you to the person who posted about directions to campground. There is a playground and aquatic center very close to campground.
We gave a $20 donation. KOA would charge $15 just to dump. Donation spot is 2 blocks north at City Services.
Nice pleasant location to stop after long day of driving.
Only downfall is that there is no bathroom facility in campground for tenters and others without bathrooms.
And a siren went off at 7 am to remind people to go to work..😉😂
