“Spanish for "two peaks"”
Dos Picos County Park is located in the Ramona area. Its name, Spanish for "two peaks," is derived from two prominent mountains nearby. Dos Picos is surrounded by ranchland and steep rocky slopes, which help preserve its secluded atmosphere. The peaceful, shady park is well suited for campers and picnickers. Camping sites include partial hook-up sites, tent sites, and a youth group area.

San Diego Parks and campgrounds are the best! They seem to have a high standard for employees and campgrounds, with a feeling of uniformity in the whole system. This campground is surrounded by a vast residential area. It has a large day use area and a short nature trail that provides a good overlook of the park. Water and electricity are available and a dump station. Dogs are an extra dollar.

My family and I stayed here at the end of August and really liked it. It had small trails, a play area, and when we visited the Park Rangers office they told and showed my young son about the insects and nature in the part. We'll be back!

We live 30 minutes away and it was our first time staying here. Nice clean park with plenty of space between camp sites. Clean grounds all over.

I was here March 14 through March 17th.This campground is great. it was very clean and green, perhaps its the time of the year or all the rain we've had. If you are into wine, there are a few wineries close by .My favorite was Woof'n Rose Winery. If you like to hike with your dog or not the Iron Mountain Trail is a great place for a hike.

This is such a great little campground! We picked it to hang out in the SD area over the summer (45 min to downtown), but ended up loving Ramona. Don’t miss all the wonderful local vineyards!
Remote enough to be quiet and have pretty views. Some really nice shaded sites here, especially the sites around the outside (30s, 40s). Sites in the upper loop (60s, 70s) aren’t as shaded and really close together. The sites in the middle of the campground (teens, 20s) aren’t very private and end up having a group camping kind of feel.
Very peaceful, relaxing, & not many campers during the week. Very busy on weekends with locals and lots of church or student groups. Can be a bit noisy on weekends. But everyone we encountered was nice.
Very affordable, especially for the area. Decent Verizon cell signal to work. We would go back!

Lots of shade, clean facilities and rangers were really friendly and helpful. Half hookups with dumping area near the restroom. I didn’t use the shower but the sign says 5 mins or less recommended. Close hiking nearby and found the park to be quiet and peaceful. Some of the sites seemed to have longer term full timers.

Paved sites with water & electric in a very nice county park. Free dump station for campers. Really nice hike up the hillside with views of the entire park. A little pond for catch and release fishing. 4 bars of Verizon service. We camped on a Tuesday and Wednesday and had no close neighbors, very quiet except for the rooster at 3:30 in the morning but it was fun. Odd little rule states no smoking in county parks but our site was littered with cigarette butts and an empty pack. Obviously not enforced. A few long term looking campers which I thought there were stay length limitations like every other campground.

Nice well kept campground. Similar to all San Diego County campgrounds, coin showers, fire pit, picnic table and water spigots. There is a small pond within walking distance where we tried to fish, but it seems very shallow and not worth much time unless to picnic by. I would have liked to explore more and hike, however the weekend I went it was in the high 90’s. Great spot for kids and very family friendly.

Very nice clean campground. The rangers make sure quite hours are followed, which was great when there were noisy people. Fishing at pond was fun! Internet was weak, checking email was ok but sending picture was a problem.
