Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on February 11, 2023Our last stop on our Sept 2017 trip was spent at Liberty Hill Park on Lake Navarro Mills. This is a great campground to spend a few days or weeks relaxing and catching fish. Lake Navarro Mills is well know as the best Crappie fishing lake in Texas. Navarro Mills Liberty Hill Park features a fantastic fishing barge that is covered allowing you to fish no matter the weather. Our visit to Liberty Hill Park at Navarro Mills Lake was a real treat with one minor exception, Argentine Ants, these can be a real issue when RV camping at Liberty Hill Park as this invasive species is out of control at Liberty Hill Park.

Beautiful area but some sites are not kept up well- tall grass, large fire ant infestation, not enough gravel or non around picnic table area. We chose our site online so had no idea of what our site looked like. It turned out to be pretty level. The restrooms were very old in the area where we were. So many bugs in them I didn’t use it for anything! Would love to come back and see that they have torn down some of the old bath houses and rebuilt new ones that were more energy efficient and cleaner. Cell service was not real good. We are seniors with the lifetime pass. This allowed us to pay $10/ night. Great deal in that respect.

What a beautiful park!!! We were there in late Jan and early Feb of 2020. A lot of the park was closed for the season or were under repair. Most of the campsites had a covered picnic area, some were having new roofs put on them and the cabins were being renovated. We were in a 2003 Itasca Suncruiser. 50a water and sewer on site 74

The sites are spaced out well I. The area I stayed in. The Grass was mowed, there were stickers if you have pets. Could walk right down to the lake from my site. I will be back with the fam and do some fishing.

Wanted a pull through site since I’m new at pulling the trailer and knew it would be dark when I arrived. I just got a lesson in expectations. I assumed the paved site would be level. Haha. It’s not. Really nice lady at gate handed me my vehicle tag with my reserved site “site 47” and told me it was notoriously unlevel and when I asked she switched me to 53. It’s still not level so thank goodness I didn’t get 47 haha. Dark and quiet. I’ll be leaving in the morning. And, btw, only 1 bar w ATT.
It’s nice bc there is someone at the gate till 10pm.

Liberty Hill Park Campground has beautiful views of a lake and nice private spots. We were in site 27 which was a full hook up, 50 AMP long back-in site. We were originally booked for the week but had to leave after one night due to internet signal. We work full time during the day. We tried using cellular AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. None had a sustained download of more than 7 megs and upload was under 1 on all carriers. Just wanted to leave this review in case anyone is looking to stay and work remotely while at this park.
We would have loved to take the week off and spent it here relaxing. It is a perfect place for some downtime. Would love to come back when we do not have to be online for work.

Beautiful lakefront sites with lots of space between sites. Many are far from level, however. Very cold bathroom.

Huge Rural CoE Park... lots of space between sites. Most were un-level though. Our site was a long arced pull-thru on a slope and I was able to get level by straddling the peak of the arc. Park is very rural between Waco and Carthage. Would be a nice place for relaxing with family or a group.

Arrived at about 6pm. Host at the entrance gate wasn’t very friendly. Didn’t come out to greet us. We didn’t get a park map or directions to our site. Fortunately Reservation.gov has maps. Our site was not level, but then none of them seemed to be. Bathrooms were so clean on the first day, but second day the toilets were clogged up and the bathrooms needed cleaning. Beer bottles and cans in several of them. It could be such a great campground. It was really quiet and really quite pretty. If you love birds, this is a great spot. If you like friendly camp hosts, not so much (at least not when we were there).
