Rhode Island School of Design (better known as RISD) is a small college in a small state, but it’s one with a huge international reputation. Founded in 1877, RISD (pronounced “RIZ-dee”) attracts the top art and design students from around the country and the world. Each year approximately 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students share their creative energy as they pursue full-time degree programs in 19 studio majors in the fine arts, architecture and design.
