Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 05, 2022We were traveling with friends and snagged a double site right on the Rogue River. The RV length restriction indicates 40 feet but we were able to get our 45 foot motorhome in. Part of the reason is where the site was located which was right at the first intersection next to the camp host. We wouldn't have made it around the loop due to tight corners and overhanging trees. The double sites are close together (only one of us could extend our awning) but the "yard" is huge. I mean huge! Nice firepit and we had our own "private" rocks on the Rogue River. Be aware that the water is frigid! We were lucky enough to be there for a free fishing weekend and had a blast catching trout. There are no hookups or WII FI and no cell coverage. We found the best place to get connected was at the library in Prospect. They have free and very good WII FI, and cell phone service is available here. There were lots of bugs when we were there but it seems seasonal. Some road noise but quiet at night. Some sites are noisier than others. Tons of sightseeing in the area. We will definitely return.

Loved it here! We turned in here late at night because we couldn't drive any longer and ended up in a first come, first serve site right on the Rogue River with its own little private beach access. It felt like we hit the jackpot. From camp there are hiking trails along with the river as far as you want to walk.
Nice campground, clean and well kept.
However, no cell phone signal, no hook ups, no dump station, no water hook ups. Basically, dry camping. Water is available but not that you can hook a hose to, at least what we found.
And it's right at the the junction to head to Crater Lake.

It had been raining for a few days so the roadway had a lot of wet debris on it making your shoes very wet when walking and your Rv wheels very dirty. This is meant to be a very minor complaint.

Our nightly rate was the 50% using the National Parks Discover pass (make sure you use this when reserving online!) This campground is operated by the National Forest Service and the hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. It is dry camping only, no hookups of any kind. No showers on site but it does have several running water bathrooms located around the park as well as water fill spigots. We think the best sites are those adjacent to the Rogue River where you can walk just a few yards and be on the basalt at the edge of the water. The sound of the water will certainly help you sleep at night. We saw large 5th wheels there, but I don't think a 45' Class A would be able to negotiate the access roads within the park. There is some traffic sound from highway 62, but not oppressive. The sites are very clean and well maintained with very wide distancing between sites. Asphalt pads too. Our nearest neighbor was at least 30 yards away. There were several generators being run (including mine) due to heat, but because of distance they are barely noticeable. The park has a combination of reserve-able and walk-in sites. Trailheads from the park give you access to beautiful hikes along the Rogue to the Rogue River Gorge and further beyond, the Natural Bridge formation. Crater Lake is about 25 miles away and absolutely worth the visit. We had zero cell connection with T-Mobile and ATT, including my dedicated hotspot with external MiMo antenna. The nearest service that we found was 12 miles south in the town of Prospect. Being off grid was a small price to pay for being under 100' old-growth evergreens. Oh, and don't miss getting a cheeseburger and slice of pie from Beckies which is right outside the park entrance.

We were in this park June 1-5, 2021 It was 17 miles to Crater Lake one mile to Beckies burgers and pies and 15 miles to the town of Prospect for fuel and cell service. Sites 1-7 are a little to close to the road for us. We moved to site 32 and loved it. It is on the river as are many of the sites. All the sites on the river are nice. We spent 2 days visiting Crater Lake and the rest of the time hiking trails on the Rouge River. We liked the place so much we stayed an extra day. We left on 5 jun before it got hot. Also we did not have anyone running generators near us so that was real nice. The huge trees in this campground are a bonus. No showers but the restrooms were spotless.

Very friendly hostess with an available list of first come first serve which made it easy to find a camp site. The camp ground is in a grove of tall evergreen trees with a brook babbling at the end of our site. Very clean, quieted down nicely, with friendly campers. Close to Crater Lake.

Nice campground, only accepts cash so make sure to have some on hand. No cell reception, generators allowed but everyone was very courteous about when they used them. We stayed in site #60 and enjoyed it. There are many sites that go right against the river but with toddlers we picked one near the woods. Some wooded sites are visible from the highway, and there is some noise. Try to stay away from the lowered number sites, we found the 30-60 sites to be more concealed from the road. The sites are huge and we had more than enough room to let our kids and two dogs run around and play.

We stayed one night on our way to Crater Lake. Clean bathrooms, nice laundry. Gravel sites. RVs way too close to each other! We could not even put our awning out all the way. Apparently our neighbors did not know the meaning of quiet time till about 2am! Wifi - well good luck with that.

We absolutely loved this campground. The site is a shared community site that we had apprehensions about, but our neighbors were great. From the site you felt as you were almost alone in the forest. The adjoining sites were cloaked behind numerous trees that gave the impression of privacy. Our site was right on the river and the sound of the rushing river was so relaxing. We didn't bring the kids on this trip but they would have loved the play area in the middle of the campground. We are planning to visit this campground again next year, possibly with our neighbors we met this year.

I live in the valley and have driven by here many times. We were having a family picnic on Saturday so I rented two spots to have enough room.
My toy hauler is 39’ long. I had enough room to open the ramp to use as a patio. There was plenty of room for the family to be comfortable, and the Rogue River was jus feet beyond the campsite. We woke up to the sounds of the river. How wonderful!
Highway 62, which turns off just north of the campground to go to Crater Lake was very close by. Yes I could hear the sounds of the traffic during the day, but the sound of the river makes you forget about that.
There are many attractions close to this campground, with Crater Lake being only about 25 miles away. There is fishing, hiking, waterfalls, hiking, and more. Oregon is really beautiful! There is no cell service here, so no excuses to not enjoy nature.
We got lucky with the camp hosts. They were from Texas and very friendly and hospitable. The only downside that I saw is that, for a campground with 61 sites, there was only the one couple as campground hosts. It seems to me that was way too much for two people to handle.
Overall, I am already making plans to camp here again next year. I’m going to reserve the same two spots as soon as th reservations are opened up for next year.
