Lovely spacious sites. No hookups. Freshwater provided for filling your drinking water jugs but not your RV. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. There were sites available here during the week when Lynx Lake Campground was full. our senior pass worked. Great hiking and biking. Very friendly camp host.

This campground is great! Super clean, super quiet. Spacious sites with lots of privacy. Not close to Lynx Lake (20 min walk or short drive). But if you want a great spot to camp and then visit all that Prescott has to offer this is a very good option.

Very clean, quiet and secluded campsite. Registration allows free access to Lynx Lake, which would be $5 without a registration.
Mid-week there were many open spots. Wish I had rolled in without a reservation as the spot I reserved was very sloped. Was able to level out and then found that most of the sites were level. Had to pay the $8 fee at Recreation.gov, but offset that fee with a Senior Pass for a $9 discount.
Drove to the Lake and walked the paved trail at the water's edge from the South Shore to the North Shore where there is a restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating. It's monsoon season and the lake was full from all of the runoff. Birds-a-plenty on the water.

The scenery is beautiful as always with tall pine trees everywhere you look. The road and spurs are asphalt. There is water, fire pits, picnic tables dumpsters and vault toilets. Camping fee comes with free access to the Lynx Lake recreational area. The close proximity to town is another advantage. The one problem we did notice was that the vault toilet in the first come first serve loop was not being properly maintained. Yes, there was plenty of toilet paper, but that's about the only good thing we can say about it. Thinking it might just be a problem with the one in our loop, we checked the vault toilets in the other loops and only one came even close to what we might consider decent. When we were here spring of 2021, there was a different camp host and this problem did not exist then, and we're wondering if a different contractor is now managing the campground. Suffice it to say, we don't plan on camping here again until this situation changes.

First, let me say the photos here do NOT tell an accurate story on this campground. Most of the campsites are just wide spots on the loop roads and many, (I mean MANY), are on an incline or decline making leveling an RV a real hassle. When I got to my "reserved" site, there were 2 five gallon water containers and a folding chair on the picnic table. I went in search of the "Campground Host", but was told by a friend of his that he was "down the road" visiting his grandkids. The friend said, if I had the reservation, just move the stuff off and set up camp. I did exactly that, only to have an irate dude show up later in the afternoon saying he "claimed" the site by putting his stuff there. So much for Reservations.gov. I saw the "host" drive by later with two kids in the golf cart, but he never stopped in to check if I had resolved the issue. Thanks buddy.
Coupled with the fact that a group of six adults and two "screaming" kids set up camp next to me later in the afternoon (they powered up their generator at 6:45 the next morning), I chucked the whole idea of staying a couple of nights and headed for home early. Never again, at this campground.

The camp host was nice and checked on us. The spot we reserved was clean and off the road. The pictures on recreation.gov make some site bigger than they really are so be mindful of that. It was pretty quiet, some kids were running around in the evening but once the sun set it was quiet. We are going again next weekend, so hopefully it wasn’t just a fluke experience.
