Stop in as a train traveler did over 100 years ago, and learn about the gold mining, logging, and cattle history of the area. This historic building was once the western terminus depot of the Sumpter Valley Railroad, which ran from Baker City to Prairie City from 1909 until 1933. The building was restored in 1979, and now houses 10 rooms full of artifacts from Grant County's past. To get to the museum from downtown Prairie City, turn south on Main which runs into Bridge Street. The museum will be on your left and is located in Depot Park, where campsites and picnicking facilities are available.
