Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on August 15, 2023Our rate was a combination of a weekly rate plus a Good Sam discount for a full hookup site. This is a large park, with fairly standard sized campsites. Each site has a concrete pad for the RV with a grassy area and a picnic table alongside and a short fence on the back side with some low brush next to it for separation, many have trees. The trees were at the peak of fall colors and very pretty.
The woman in the front desk was not friendly, barely looked up when we arrived, and did not crack one smile during our registration. Not nasty or anything, but a smile would go a long way.
The cable did not work for us. They offer Tengo Internet, which was extremely slow, we did not use it either. Campfires are not allowed. The campground has restrooms, showers, a nice laundry room and a small playground. There are also a couple of swimming pools, though are only open seasonally, and were closed when we were there.
There is a mobile home area on the opposite side of the campground, and there are also seasonal and year-round residents on the RV side. The campground is well-kept and clean.
It is close to the airport so there is some airplane noise between 6am and 11pm. The airplanes flying overhead also break up the TV signal if you are watching TV. It is also near the train tracks so there is some train noise as well. We were not bothered much by the noise inside during the day, and we have a white noise/nature sounds little machine that we use at night.
We were in the back row which has access to a sidewalk behind it, across from a shopping center. There are openings from the sidewalk to some campsites, so we left our bikes on the car for extra safety. There are nice grassy areas throughout to walk doggies.
Lots of shopping nearby, including Target and a Safeway within a mile. Downtown is about 20 minutes away, and there is public transportation nearby, though we didn't use it.

A previous reviewer did a pretty good job of summing up this RV Park. I'll add my own observations.
Definitely make reservations. We were here in late September and they are full. We were lucky we got a spot. Our rate is based on a weekly rate.
When entering the RV part of the campground, do not make the mistake of taking the first driveway with a green sign...that is the mobile home section. The second driveway with the green sign is what you want. Just slow down and read the signs as you approach and you should be OK.
Sites can be spacious or tight, it just depends upon where they put you. We were on top of our neighbors on both sides. The sewer hookup is located at the back of the back in sites. We had to borrow a length of sewer hose from a neighbor in order to dump our tanks.
There are lots of sites that are semi-permanent. Some are neater than others.
Over the air TV was great. We didn't try hooking up to the cable, since my DVR prefers OTA TV. The WiFi was incredibly slow. We just used the MiFi for the whole week. Verizon was 2 bars of 4G LTE.
Our biggest issue and why we won't be staying here again, is the Portland traffic. It is horrible. Our daughter lives in Beaverton and getting too and from her place was a nightmare. This is not the fault of the campground by any means. But it is why we won't be back. We'll find someplace west of Portland next time.
We tried the pool. One had a broken heater. The other was nicely heated. But it still felt chilly in 70 degree weather. We didn't stay in it long.
If you need to stay someplace north of Portland, this place will do. Just brace yourself for a lot of backups on the highways.

We don't typically stay in RV parks, but we found Portland especially unfriendly towards overnight camping. We found Jantzen Beach RV Park to be affordable at $31.50 per night with Good Sam or AAA discount, and at a very good location. Even without a car we were able to use public transit to get downtown in less than 40 minutes, with a car it is a straight shot down the thruway. Jantzen Beach itself was formerly a popular shopping destination that has apparently fallen out of favor with Portlandians, but it offers any shopping you would need without needing to leave the island.
The RV park was clean and well put together, but the sites are on top of one another without any trees or much to offer privacy. We were backed up only a few feet from the trailer behind us, which is a level of closeness that we as boondockers are very unaccustomed to.
The amenities were all nice, we used the updated laundry room, and the older showers. Did not use the pool, but it seemed like a good facility.

This RV park met my needs. I had a site that was easy enough to get into and the park was easy enough to find. As another poster mentioned, the traffic getting there is horrendous. I would recommend trying to arrive at a time other than runs hour.
The office worker was very helpful. When I told her that I might be arriving after the office closed, she left the information taped to the office door.
They have a pool, but it wasn't opened for the season yet. I didn't use their wifi. There is a convenient shopping center nearby.
It's a good jumping off point for exploring the area. Next time, I think I'd try using the public transportation.

The only reasons i didnt give it 5 stars are the not so clean showers- no staff to clean them, airport nearby, and poor wifi connection.
I went here for the location, to spend time in portland. It was convenient to get to public buses and was located next to a bunch of big dept stores for anything you might need.
I would not recommend driving through portland. too much traffic. definitely easier to use the bus for $5 day pass.
Bathrooms are mostly clean but they rely on campers to clean them after they use them. therefore they werent always clean.
They had a pool onsite which was really nice since it was 85 for a couple days while i was there.
Planes flew overhead constantly from 7am to 10pm. sometimes more. i wasnt at the park much during that time so it wasnt too bothersome but i can see how it would be.
paved sights. back up to one another and not too much room in between. if youre looking for privacy this isnt for you.
overall it worked well for me to see the city of portland and i would stay here again.

My nightly rate was based on 7 day stay.
I really enjoyed this park. I was a tad bit nervous, because I had been living in Portland for the past year, and knew the homeless population is quite large. But, the park was perfectly safe! I actually don't think I saw anyone that didn't belong in the park. The entire thing is fenced. There are a number of long stay residents, but none of the site were messy. I was greeted with a hi by everyone that was living there that I saw. It had a very nice neighborly feel to it.
As far as traffic...it is Portland. That is always there, just like any big city. Yes, you are in the flight path of the airport, but it didn't bother me, nor was it overly loud. You are staying a city, so there is going to be a lot of noise!
As far as sites go, I got lucky and got one on the outer perimeter, with a nice little spot of grass for my table. I never used the bath house or laundry, so I can't comment on that, but the grounds themselves were very clean.
Connections. Both Sprint and Verizon worked. In the afternoons Verizon would get bogged down. For speedtests using my Galaxy phone to test, Sprint got 40.6 mps down, and 1.26 up. Verizon got 15.7 down, and .68 up. That was just one test I did over the week, early in the morning on a Monday.

Stayed in early October 2018. Lots of seasonals here and adjacent to a mobile home park, but quite well-kept with nice landscaping. Right next to shopping and dining with a quick drive to Portland city center. The laundry room was impeccable and all the machines took credit cards!

The campground had the usual amenities the laundry room was reasonably priced and clean as were the showers and restrooms. The sites were small and close together but we had to pull through for our 41 foot fifth wheel and it was a level paved pad with some room and picnic table. 50 amps. Walking distance to a large mall there was a swimming pool that looks nice but it was closed for the season. Good place for a short stay.

We stayed here due to its location to our daughter's home; she was having a baby! (they do not have a guest room).
I have to say that the Front Desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful; especially when you consider that when I originally called about 2 weeks ahead of the due date, I did know our exact arrival date. Fortunately this was not a busy time of year.
Also, this was our FIRST time out with our new trailer and we figured that we would be close to stores, family and friends if something went wacko on the trailer. Well, our hot water tank (brand new) did not work so we showered in the park's showers. Moldy and SUPER SLIMY is the description. We did not have Shower Flip Flops, so got out as quickly as possible; VERY unexpected and disappointing. This was a slow time of year, but there had been NO maintenance for quite some time. We were quite surprised, because it seemed like a fairly nice RV Park.
There is a nice outdoor mall across the street with Target, Home Depot, Home Goods, and restaurants. However, there is NO grocery store. The Safeway had to close a few months ago, due to theft and transients. But, it was on the other side of I-5.
We felt quite safe there; our Semi- Permanent neighbor was very friendly. There are many permanent residents; most are tidy and quite a few were not. Being December, it was a very quiet and cold time of year.
Yes, it is under the PDX flight plan. Personally, this is not a bother to us; some may hate it. We joked that each time a jet flew overhead, our tv signal was pretty messed up. SO, yes, we would stay here again if needed; only due to its close location to our daughter's house.

There aren’t many options when trying to stay near Portland, but this place fit the bill. We were able to get downtown in 10 minutes. No frills campground, tight spots, and lots of full timers living here. Don’t stay here for the beauty, but park is clean and you’re not going to find a place closer to Portland.
